Today we’d like to introduce you to The Wild Mayberrys.
The Wild Mayberrys, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We met in high school in our hometown of Fresno, CA and got married very young. Back in 2011, Mike joined the military. He was first stationed in South Korea while we were pregnant with our first son. We moved to Korea, where we spent a little over a year. While we lived in Korea in 2011/2012, we enjoyed being able to live in another country. We traveled throughout South Korea and got a chance to experience the culture and history the country had to offer. It ignited a spark in us. After we left South Korea, the next duty station was in New York where we lived for two years and enjoyed traveling up the east coast. While living in New York, we also gave birth to our beautiful second son Mason. After we left New York Mike’s military term was complete so we moved to Arizona. We thought to ourselves, where could we move to never see snow again.
While being in the military, we realized that we discovered a passion for traveling so we decided to travel a little more when Mike got out of the military. We think it’s important to mention that when we moved to Arizona, this is where we began to transform as individuals via a spiritual awakening. Within our first year of living in Arizona we became aware of the law of attraction through reading books and watching documentaries like the secret. Ever since we became aware of the law of attraction, we have used it to the best of our knowledge and it has certainly changed our lives for the better. In our first three years of living in Arizona we were fortunate enough to travel to 5 different countries. It was our fourth year of living in Arizona when the idea of traveling the world full time as a family came to us. As you can see, we believed in that idea and was able to manifest it into our reality. As of this current day, we have traveled to 10 different countries together as a family and we aren’t done yet.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We would say that it’s been a little bit of both a smooth and bumpy road. It was smooth in the sense of us not having any major setbacks once we decided to go for it. We would say the struggles came more from a mental aspect. Things like what will our family and friends think about it, will we be safe, will our kids be ok and so forth. I’m sure you can imagine all the scary things that can go through your mind before embarking on a journey like this. We actually ended up not telling anyone what we were doing until it was two months before we left. We wanted to avoid other’s opinions as we felt it would disrupt us aligning our faith and slow down the process of us manifesting something we felt strongly about.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
We are The Wild Mayberry’s. A family of four that got rid of everything we own and are currently traveling the world full time raising global citizens. We move to a different country each month while we World-school our kids. We had a very comfortable life, corporate jobs, a beautiful home and cars (one that was a dream car we put on a vision board a few years ago) in a city that we absolutely loved surrounded by some family and some of our closest friends. We had what others would consider the American dream. While we were beyond thankful for the life we had and worked so hard for, we realized that we were conforming to what we “thought” life should be. We talked often about how when the kids were older and we were retired, we would travel the world. We loved our life but we didn’t feel truly fulfilled. So we talked… “What truly makes us happy”? We decided, TRAVEL, EXPERIENCES, CONNECTION, FREEDOM, TIME with the kids and each other, and HELPING OTHERS and we didn’t feel like we were truly able to do that in our previous lifestyle.
Again, we are extremely thankful for our previous lifestyle and not downplaying it all, we just decided it wasn’t for us anymore. So we decided to get rid of everything we own and live life outside of the box we grew up in. We wanted to show our kids how to be brave, to chase their goals and ultimately spend as much time as we can together while showing them the world and other cultures. We understand that our experience here on earth is not forever and we wanted to live life exactly how we wanted while enjoying our children while their still young. Was it scary to leave a very comfortable life? Absolutely! So with the help of positive thinking, effective planning, and utilizing the law of attraction we made the leap and it was the best decision we ever made. While understanding that we as humans have the opportunity to grow when we are out of our comfort zone. I would consider our family a diverse group of souls, all with different personality types. We have learned so much since we began Full-Time Travel and have felt so grateful to see mother earth while immersing ourselves in different cultures.
OUR GOALS:
* To encourage and inspire others to live out what their version of life looks like no matter what it may look like to others.
* Spread awareness that travel can be affordable even when traveling with kids.
* FULL-TIME TRAVEL IS POSSIBLE and is a lot more doable and easier than expected.
* Teaching our kids the value of having an experience vs material things.
* Sharing tips and tricks on family travel, baecations and group travel.
* Sharing as much info as we can about each location we visit.
* Learning more about ourselves and our kids
* Handling adversity with grace and compassion
* Raising our vibration as we grow spiritually and continue to attract the life we want.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
With there being so many moments to be proud of as a family, it’s pretty difficult to choose one but if we absolutely had to pick one moment, we would say the decision to travel the world would have to be the proudest moment of our journey. We’ve received so many messages from people saying how we’ve inspired them in so many ways! Hearing that we inspired someone to step outside of their comfort zone and follow their dreams is one of the greatest forms of happiness we have ever experienced. It literally fills us with joy and excitement to know that our actions influenced someone else for the better. We hope to continue to inspire others as well but to know that at least one person was inspired by our decision to travel is more than enough for us.
