Meet Vanessa Little of RADIANT Glam Bar in East Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Little.

Vanessa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began my journey in the beauty industry about six years ago when I started doing freelance makeup. I was in love with everything beauty since I was a little girl. I can remember sitting in front of my Fisher Price vanity, playing with makeup and dressing up in my mom’s dresses. As early as six years old I was doing my grandma’s hair (and accidentally tangling her hair in my play-brush… oops!). Then when I was around ten years old, I would do all of my cousin’s makeup for our “fashion show”. I knew I was meant for this industry. However, I spent ten years in the banking industry before I followed my dream. Late 2017 I quit my career of ten years and began on my journey to become a licensed Esthetician. I never looked back! Here I am today, a licensed esthetician, certified microblading artist, and freelance makeup artist. I am now a proud business owner of RADIANT Glam Bar, where I do all things beauty. I am in love with what I do and have a true passion for making people feel beautiful.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t always been easy. When I graduated high school back in 2007, I did not know where to start. I went to college for a couple of years, throwing money into an education that I was not passionate about. I moved out of my parent’s house at 19 years old and soon realized that going to school and working full time was not working out for me. I dropped out of college and continued to work full time at a bank where I continued to climb the corporate ladder. I was building someone else’s dream, while I had mine on the back burner.

Please tell us about your business.
My company, RADIANT Glam Bar, is a beauty and skincare company. I specialize in skin care, microblading, and makeup. I am most proud of the fact that I have built a successful company in such a short period of time. My hard work, passion, and blood sweat and tears have certainly paid off. I believe what sets me apart from others is the relationships and connections I build with my clients. They trust me and can rely on me.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband, my parents, and my amazing neighborhood community have been my biggest supporters. My husband supported our family while I was going through school. My parents encouraged me to follow my dreams constantly throughout my childhood and as an adult and told me to never give up. And my amazing neighborhood community has supported my business and has been a key to my success and getting my name out there.
