Meet Tyler Cruz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Cruz.

Tyler, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My whole journey started at the age of eight, watching my favorite movies and shows anything from; Gladiator, The Replacements, Malcom in the middle, Lords of Dogtown, and Kill Bill. Growing up in southern California in the early 2000’s I immediately gravitated towards acting and film. Thanks to the support of my father and grandparents I enrolled in acting classes, within the first week of coaching I booked an agent. It wasn’t long after that I started getting jobs, there were a few small parts, to begin with, but my first international job was a Chevy Silverado commercial which aired the entire 2007 NFL season including the superbowl! We shot on the New York set at Universal Studios, the director was Phil Joanou the director of the film Gridiron Gang starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Shortly after that, jobs started coming in. Ecko Unlimited, Wii, cartoon network, I even did a short film with Hailee Steinfeild when we were kids called “Shes a fox.” Being on set with all these amazing people and getting to see the behind the scenes inspired me and stuck with me for about six years. I suddenly closed that chapter of my life as a teenager when I moved out to Arizona.

Little did I know that spark of creativity never subsided. It wasn’t until I graduated high school while I was determining what I intended to do with my life, I bought a camera. With a little guidance from a great friend of mine Jacob Stanek, I was well on my way to creating yet again! A year after I learned how to operate my camera, shooting music videos for artists around the valley like LFETME, Ali Tomineek, photographing Weddings and corporate events, I thought to myself I could do something with this, I’m having so much fun, meeting so many great people, why shouldn’t I go after this? After a few months of contemplating, Vividly Rah Productions was born. Fast forward six years, I’m a full time Director and Creator, who loves what he does.

Has it been a smooth road?
When following your passion its never a smooth ride, it’s like that expression goes “Sink or Swim” haha. I think the most struggling part was the lack of support from friends and family who at first didn’t see my vision. But that’s the thing as an individual with a passion, no one will see it unless you see it yourself.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
What we are most known for would have to be our adaptive style. We love consulting with our clients to make sure we are all on the same page, anything we create is a perfect balance of the client’s needs and our creative touch. There’s a lot of directors out there that will always do it their way rather than listen to the client’s wants and needs. Vividly Rah specializes in a wide variety of photo and video work. Anything from Music Videos, Direct to Cam, Info Products, weddings, graduations, we do it all when it comes to your creative needs.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Phoenix is the perfect city to start a creative endeavor, it’s what you would call an “open water market” where there aren’t a lot of professional photographers and videographers, compared to Hollywood and NY where it’s a little more difficult to be heard or seen as you’re starting.
