Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A career in commercial real estate is different every day. I’ve always been attracted by performance-based compensation so it is a great fit for my entrepreneurial make-up. It is not for everyone. I started my professional career during the dot com bubble and worked for several start-ups before changing careers into commercial real estate, so “the struggle” is part of the excitement for me. Learning more with each transaction, both successes and lessons learned. I am constantly implementing new systems to operate more efficiently and that is always a work in progress. Until I decide one day to get of the game, I’m in for a ride along a winding road of achievements and challenges.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in healthcare commercial real estate properties. I work with healthcare companies looking to strategically locate a site to deliver better patient care and help them if they want to invest in that property to build equity and lower their cost of occupancy. I also work with investors that specialize in the healthcare real estate asset class specifically and help them monetize or acquire an asset in their portfolio. My differentiator is that I am here to implement a solution that my client needs and I own the process from start to finish and available to answer any questions beyond our initial engagement. Healthcare companies and clinicians making a real estate decision need someone to drive the transaction. They have a day job that is intense serving their patient’s needs. What they need from me is an advocate and advisor on their side and to keep them organized and informed of decisions and options. I say that I eliminate their need to have a second job learning the commercial real estate industry.
Investors with properties in Arizona live all over the country. Arizona is an attractive state to invest in healthcare properties for a variety of reasons. These investors need to trust the information I am providing them as accurate as they put millions at risk. Investors want information that is more precise and faster every day and I am able to meet this expectation.
What matters most to you? Why?
Trust and honesty. I try to live my life where my words and behaviors are aligned. I believe that builds trusts and demonstrates honesty. All of my clients are making million-dollar investment decisions, borrowing money, raising capital with partners and sometimes signing personal guarantees. All of these parties have to trust that my client is honest and able to perform. My expectation for myself is in turn to perform with trust and honesty for my clients.
