Meet Trailblazer Zaire Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zaire Williams.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Zaire. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I initially started off just playing around and experimenting on myself and friends around age 15, when I also started making beauty related videos on YouTube, with now over 2,700 subscribers. I then got the idea of starting my first business, Dolled By Zaire, at age 16, providing simple makeup services to gain experience and to grow my portfolio. Since I started Dolled By Zaire, my work has now been published in a magazine, and I’ve even worked on Celebrities, NBA Wives, News Anchors, and Models signed with agencies like Ford Models and AZ Model Management.

I’m very fortunate to have found my passion at an early age and knew exactly what I wanted to do. I attended school to get my aesthetics license right out of high school and fell in love with skincare as well. While at the same time working at MAC Cosmetics as a Permanent Makeup Artist at age 18 and continuing to work on my own personal clients. I’ve always had this dream of starting my own line but was apprehensive and maybe even a little nervous for some reason. Recently, I had an epiphany and decided to go ahead and take a risk and focus on myself for once and my personal goals. And that’s when I finally decided to start my second business at age 20, my cosmetic line ZAIRE Cosmetics, a multicultural brand that focuses on different products for Women of Color. Soon to become ZAIRE Cosmetics and Natural Skin Care, focusing on sensitive skin and natural ingredients to help heal and renew your skin in a healthy and safe way. Skin care is the first step in makeup application, and I want to focus on that just as much as the actual products.

We’d love to hear more about ZAIRE Cosmetics.
I am a Professional Licensed Makeup Artist, esthetician, and young entrepreneur. I’m known for being able to do a full glam look, while still making it natural and lightweight. I specialize in makeup for African American women, but also able to work on women and men of all shades, all ages, and all backgrounds.

ZAIRE Cosmetics is a multicultural brand that focuses on different products for Women of Color. I decided to do a Pre-Launch in December 2018 to get constructive criticism back, seeing how people enjoyed the product. I did get a lot of feedback back that I am now using to perfect the products. I will be announcing the official launch date soon via social media so make sure you are following me. ZAIRE Cosmetics carries a variety of lip-glosses, highlighters, eyeshadow palettes, and soon to come foundation shades. What sets us apart from most brands is our dedication to providing products for women of all colors. Originally, I got the idea of starting my brand because I shop for makeup all the time and it is very difficult sometimes to find the right shade and undertone that matches my complexion. I realized that this is in high demand and I would love to be able to make women’s lives a little easier. That is what I’m most proud of as a brand.

Has it been a smooth road?
The path to success is always a little bumpy, but it’s all about overcoming obstacles and learning from them. A struggle I personally dealt with was self-doubt. Sometimes, we can get stuck in our heads and overthink everything. I’ve learned that that does nothing but hold you back and slow down your blessings. For other young women out there, I would say to not be afraid to take that risk and go for it! Accept constructive criticism and ignore the negativity. Women are strong, smart, and sure as hell can do anything anyone else can do. You’re never too young or too old to follow your dreams, so why wait!? The world is yours!
