Meet Trailblazer Stephanie Coulston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Coulston.

Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in Arizona and I saw a need in the industry for a luxury nail salon at affordable prices.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business always has challenges, I think if you are passionate about what you do it will be successful. Don’t give up on your idea. People always point out that I have run a business for 10 years, I am grateful for the opportunity but I never consider myself an expert, there is always room to grow and always room to learn new things. Be open and flexible and never stop learning.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Sundrops Nail Spot – what should we know?
I created a space that customers feel welcomed and appreciated. We always give excellent services and our staff is trained to take care of customers through their entire experience. I frequently go back to this quote, “A guest is the most important visitor on our premises. They are not dependent on us. We are dependent on them. They are not an interruption in our work. They are the purpose of it. We are not doing them a favor by serving them. They are doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.” – Gandhi

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
Women are natural leaders, we are aware of our surroundings, and peoples emotions. Those qualities keep us a step ahead in business.
