Today we’d like to introduce you to Sierra Turner.
Sierra, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Even as a young girl, I always felt the need to learn, grow and lead. From 4-H to competitive dance and everything I did in between, I never settled for just being involved. I felt the drive to be one of the best, to make my mark and to teach others how to succeed. When my husband and I decided to move our young family from Oregon to Arizona, I was not sure what we would find on this new adventure. I was a new mom of 5-month-old twins, we had no family for thousands of miles and my hubby was working his dream job, putting in 50+ hours a week. In Oregon, I was the main source of income for my husband and I. He was attending collage/working full time and I was supporting us in the felid of medical cosmetics sales. Like a flash, I was living in a new town, with two littles who needed me 24/7. I dove into mom’s life, joined mom groups, organized play dates and learned that I could function on no sleep, lol.
About this time, we decided that we were ready to buy a home. Ben (hubby) and I had worked very hard and were excited. We walked into a realtor office by our apartment, we were pre-qualified, had a full down payment and were ready to go! (the dream client)… the whole transaction was bad. We were made to feel we’re not worth our agent’s time like our small budget was a joke. Long story short, we were left to feel worthless vs. feeling joy.
A few months later, I became friends with a woman named Jen Anderson, she was and is an amazing hard-working woman, who was juggling work, family, church and serving her community. She was not just doing it but doing it very well and growing her brand. Over the next 18 months, I had another child and we started to grow our roots in the Vail area. When my son was two, I felt the need to go back to work… but leaving my three young kids all day was off the table. I needed to find something that would allow me to be home, that allowed me to be my own boss. That is when Ben said, ” have you thought about talking to Jen about becoming a Realtor?”
That was the question that guided me to meet with Jen. In that meeting, I asked her if she would be willing to help me, lead me and become a mentor to me. I am so blessed that she said “yes.”
Almost two years later, I am thriving working as a member of The Jen Anderson Team. Our team was just blessed to be the recipients of the long most prestigious award, the 1926 Circle of Excellence. I could not be happier with how A job allows me to be a mom, wife, and support to people buying and selling homes (no matter the budget). My job brings so much joy in my life. The clients I get to help are the driving force to me pushing myself to be the very best for them.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to success is never easy. Find someone who you look up to and do what they do, don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Find a group of people who will support you, you will need them when you are having bad days and when you are having great days! Most people quite so early on, DONT GIVE UP! Keep pushing and keep feeling the need to grow.
We’d love to hear more about Long Realty.
The joys of being a Realtor is that nothing is ever the same. Every single transaction is different, so I treat my clients as such. They are each on their own path and for a little while, I get to help them along the way. Recognizing how to tailor the transaction for my client is one of my skillsets that I am most proud of. My team is what sets me apart. When people allow me to help them with Real Estate, they get me and a group of an amazing woman working hard for them. We are all fully invested in each client.
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I think being the oldest played a big role in my life.
