Meet Trailblazer Nitrah Neon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nitrah Neon.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nitrah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a photographer, graphic designer, clothing designer, musician, and model. I’ve always been creative and into art. The way I got into all of these things was initially through photography I started out doing photos for bands and then went to tech school for multimedia where I learned design and how to pose in front of the camera. I then moved to LA where I started doing music and getting more into modeling.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has never been a smooth road. I moved to LA to pursue photography and not having a place to live and going to school at the same time was really hard.

Starting my clothing line was difficult because no one in that industry wanted to share their knowledge and there was not a lot of resources available to me.

Music is challenging in that producers want to take advantage of you and the music industry is very saturated so not everyone is willing to listen to your songs.

Modeling is challenging because photographers are shady and are really flakey and a lot of the other models I’ve met are really bad people.

My advice to women starting their journey would be that you have to prepare yourself to do everything on your own because at the end of the day you are who you have to rely on.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I really do a little bit of everything. I am really trying to focus on music and branding myself so I can do that as a career. I think I am probably most well known for music but I get recognized in public for photography and modeling as well. What I am most proud of is the music that I make and watching people listen to it and enjoy it. What sets me apart from other people is my drive to follow all my passions.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
The most important piece of advice I could give to a young woman starting her career would be if you’re good at something never do it for free.
