Meet Trailblazer A. Margot Brisky

Today we’d like to introduce you to A. Margot Brisky.

In her first 14 years of life, she was adopted, experienced several forms of abandonment, sexual assault, juvenile detention, substance misuse and dependency, promiscuity, obtained a 0.96 GPA as a high school freshman, and much more. A. Margot Brisky began her professional journey at age 19 as a Master’s student and University Professor. In the same year, A. Margot launched her first company, a lifestyle training and identity development company, DiscoverHer Life Coaching, LLC while also working as a High School AVID Instructor and School-Age Teacher. Over the next five years, she continued to overcome the adverse life experiences she battled with as a teen. In October 2018, A. Margot acknowledged that her company had reached its pivot point as she saw the need to address these lifestyle issues from a root level. She launched ELDA4U, LLC., (Entrepreneurial Lifestyle Development Analysis), a resilience-based lifestyle development training community which analyzes the current state of your professional and personal life, tests your professional and personal agility, and sharpens your entrepreneurial thinking.

A. Margot Brisky is a Lifestyle Development and Resilience Specialist, Content Developer, and Accountability Partner. She’s worked with companies, organizations, and individuals across several countries to guide people to take authority and action in their professional and personal lives. It’s her belief that in order for an individual to establish work-life harmony, a person must uproot their unhealthy habits and bridge the generational gaps that exist in their lives. A. Margot works directly with Founders of Service-based businesses, company employees and women of all ages who have faced adverse life experiences and guides them to identify how to navigate their journeys more clearly.

Over the last 9 years, A. Margot has studied the philosophies of social psychology and the correlations to professional and personal growth. Through her nonprofit, DiscoverHer Worldwide, A. Margot hosts monthly sessions and annual collaborative accountability experiences. As well, she facilitates through her own resilience-based lifestyle development training community. A. Margot most recently served as Community Leader for the Obama Foundation Community Leadership Corps in Phoenix, AZ. A. Margot is an advocate for transracial adoption and lowing the recidivism rates. She has been recognized as a Top 40 under 40 leaders, Top 35 Millennial Influencer, and been presented with merits from city, state and national representatives for her work of bridging communication and relationship gaps and leading people into action.

Overall, has entrepreneurial journey been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nothing of value comes easy. My entrepreneurial journey has been full of lessons and growth opportunities. Some of the most challenge times to experience included ones where relationships with close friends ended. This is what I call seasons of life. My advice for other women who are just starting their business and those who are seasoned entrepreneurs is to trust the longevity of your process. The people who are meant to be present and active in your life will be there during the moments they are meant to be. Do not dwell on who is not there for you. The person not in your corner. Through your process, be willing to show up 100% of the time for yourself. The right people will be present when you need them. Keep growing!

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
We all can become who we are meant to be. Some of us are presented opportunities, while others cultivate opportunities on our own. One is not better than the other. Regardless of the skew societal images, we continue to see about women, we can choose to not limit our thinking or be defined by the experiences designed to keep women from operating at their highest frequencies or as their best selves.
