Meet Trailblazer Lisa Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Lewis.

Lisa, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a mom of five kids ranging in age from 11-20 years old. I received my degree from ASU for teaching Special Education in December of 1998. I had my first daughter three months after graduating from ASU, so I decided to stay home and take care of her and then be a stay at home mom for her and my four other children that were born into our family. I substitute taught a bit throughout the years but was lucky enough to be home with my kids for the majority of their upbringing. I decided to go into Real Estate last year, I got my license and now I work with an experienced team that has been in the business for the past 15 or so years. Their expertise has been useful to help me to succeed. I’m excited about this new opportunity to do something that I love and still have flexibility for my family when needed. I Love working with people and helping them to find the home that they will love for the best deal possible. I also don’t mind spending the long hard hours necessary to sell a client’s home. I’m dedicated to serving my clients and working hard for them. Their happiness is my success!

Has it been a smooth road?
I wish I would have gotten into the Real Estate Business when I was younger. I have loved working with special needs kids, and regular needs kids in the schools, I had a chance to work with kids from Preschool on up to Seniors in High School. Unfortunately, that doesn’t pay the bills, so I decided to get into Real Estate. I chose the Real Estate industry because I love working with people of all ages and helping people out. Real Estate is slow to start, and there are many agents for clients to choose from. So, my advise is to just stick with it and surround yourself with people that are experienced and can show you the ropes! Be dedicated and work hard and eventually that will pay off!

I like to think of myself as someone that serves others and helps them to realize their Real Estate Dreams. I go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I can find the home that will best fit my clients’ needs, or do whatever it takes to sell my clients home. My team is made up of Hard workers as well. The phone is always on and ready to answer a call, email or text. No distance is too far to check out a home for an out of state client or to take a local client out for showings. There are never too many open houses to be sat or advertisements to be posted. Which women have inspired you in your life?
My Grandmother! She was born May 6, 1920, so she is almost 99! She lived through the depression and all of the awesome eras in life, the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and on into the 2000s! She has seen so much and has so many wise words of advice for me. She is such a go-getter and never gives up. She doesn’t waste anything. She doesn’t believe in electronics, she believes in face to face contact. She doesn’t own a computer or cell phone or even an answering machine! She has taught me to be present when being with people, to not be distracted by my phone. She exercises every day, she reads a lot and does crossword puzzles and such to keep her brain clear and active. She lives alone, so I get the opportunity to go and check on her each week, bring her food, take her shopping, run errands with her and basically spend quality time with her.
She is amazing and I hope to be just like her when I grow up! 🙂

My Mom and mother-in-law love and serve everyone unconditionally and teach me to do the same.
My sister and sister in law are amazing and work so hard to take care of their kids and they love them and my kids as their own as well.
My daughters are growing into wonderful young women that are caring and thoughtful and make me want to be a better mom.
I love all of these influences in my life and they have inspired me to strive to become greater and constantly work on improving myself.
