Meet Trailblazer Lauryn Witt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauryn Witt.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lauryn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story begins when I first moved to Arizona back in 2014. I made the move from California to further my education in health and wellness. I have always had an interest in helping others to live a healthy and more fit life. However, I really dove into my career as a Personal trainer back in February of 2019. My previous coach, Rigo Castillo, helped me and gave me the push I needed to really be able to take off. My mission as a health and fitness coach is to “help women create healthy habits without restriction to achieve a body they love.” Along with that, my main goal is to help women feel comfortable and confident in their body. As a woman myself, I know what it is like to feel self-conscious about how I look and the pressures to always look my best. I want to be able to help others get to a place of confidence as well as doing it the healthy way. I am not one about quick fixes I preach slow, steady, and sustainable. I want to set all my clients for success as well as teach them along the way. I am not someone who is going to give you your plan and disappear I will be there every step of the way to make sure you have the necessary tools to be able to succeed. I am passionate about my job and the opportunity to be able to help others.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am lucky enough to have a few mentors that have really guided me through this process. Taking a leap to be your own boss and start something that has no security can be quite scary. There were plenty of nights where I would lie awake and worry about the what if’s. However, I knew deep down this is what I was meant to do, I was meant to help others in this way. So, my advice for other women that are wanting to take a leap to start their own business is to just do. Stop overthinking and second-guessing yourself. We have this one life to live and it’s important to do what makes you happy and thrive each day. I wake up every day excited to work with clients, make new plans, and talk to new girls about what I do. If what you want to do gets you excited, get out there and follow your dreams. Nothing is more fulfilling than knowing you took that leap of faith and succeeded. And even if you don’t, at least you will not have any what if’s.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I work with women who wanted to achieve a healthier version of themselves. I provide workout plans, meal plans, as well as macro plans to provide along their journey with me. Not only that as a coach it is so important to be there to offer support because changes are never easy. Especially when most girls coming to me are so new to what I am teaching them. So, instead of just giving them a plan and sending them on their way, I provide educational modules as well so they can learn everything that I am doing and be able to understand. I am proud to be where I am and apart of a team that really focuses on the health and well being of our clients. Anyone can give someone a plan to follow but something I feel that sets me apart from others is the care, time, and effort I put into each individual plan.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
I feel like we, as women, can do whatever we set our minds to. I do not think any position is just suited for women or men. As long as you are hard working, passionate and willing to push through obstacles you may face anything is possible.
