Meet Trailblazer Kelly Rodenburg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Rodenburg.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Kelly. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a registered nurse and scrub/fashion influencer living in Phoenix. I didn’t expect my Instagram account to evolve into what it is today, one day I just decided to make my account public and start talking about my nursing school experience, and people were listening to what I was writing about. This whole thing is pretty amazing to me, and it has allowed me to work with amazing companies like Cherokee Uniforms, Babes in Scrubs, and Liketoknowit.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Social media aside, my career as a nurse is my primary focus, and yes, it was not an easy journey. I had many moments in school where I thought to myself, “what did I get myself into!?” but then, I would always remember why I started. So, the biggest advice I could give someone starting their nursing journey is to remember why you started, make sure you truly love this profession and remember that all the hard work will be worth it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Kelly Rodenburg – what should we know?
As a nurse I work in the operating room, as far as my “brand” on social media, I focus on being transparent with my followers while having fun. I am an influencer with liketoknowit so a lot of my page shows my love for clothes, and of course, I also talk about nursing.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mother has been a huge inspiration for me, she has always encouraged me to be an ambitious woman. Just watching her as an example, and how she keeps moving forward despite adversity has been one of the biggest inspirations to me.
