Meet Trailblazer Jodi Lynn Maxwell and Traci Copeland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jodi Lynn Maxwell and Traci Copeland.

Jodi Lynn and Traci are the women behind the lens and co-owners of Le Boudoir Studio. Jodi Lynn launched LBS in 2010, and Traci recently joined the team in 2016. Jodi lynn is passionate about what she does. She sees all of us women so critical about their-selves and decided it was her job is to empower women to make them feel more confident!

Whether it is the media, what people have told us or our own distorted self-image; it seems as though women pick themselves apart.

This is why Jodi Lynn followed her passion for creating a boudoir photography studio. When one of her first clients said “you made me feel so beautiful”; she knew this was her calling. Creating an inviting and comfortable environment for women to be able to relax, feel beautiful and increase confidence is an amazing feeling.

As entrepreneurs, photographers, mothers, and part-time therapists, these #GirlBosses are changing the name of the game in the industry, with the mission to inspire self-love while empowering and inspiring confidence through boudoir photography.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Photography is a tough business and has not been a smooth road. There is so many people that are photographers that you need to separate yourself from them by finding your own style and niche. We also feel that a strong business background or knowledge is a must. Jodi Lynn has a bachelors degree in Accounting and feels that this has what has made her successful. Understanding the numbers so she can create the prices suitable for her clients but still have a profitable business at the same time.

We’d love to hear more about Le Boudoir Studio.
While other boudoir studios focus on sex appeal and a “do it for your man” attitude, Le Boudoir Studio takes a different approach, focusing on a greater “why.” Jodi and Traci strive to make women of all ages and sizes feel empowered, not for a man, or someone else – but for themselves. Empowering women versus just taking a sexy photo are what sets us apart.

Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
For Jodi Lynn, the best thing she can do to keep going is to read motivational books or self-improvement ones that always seem to provide the must needed motivation to keep the business running sufficiently. For working with people, “How to win friends and influence people”. For confidence and being comfortable in her own skin so she can help women feel the same, “The Gifts of Imperfection”, and “Daring Greatly”. The last two are Brene Brown and is Jodi Lynn’s go-to author.
