Meet Trailblazer Jessica Noto

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Noto.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jessica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My grandfather was the first person to put a camera in my hands around the age of 12. From that moment, I couldn’t get enough of all types of cameras. Super 8, video, film, editing, and darkroom developing became second nature.

I have watched life through a lens. Before cell phones were in everyone’s hand, I had a video camera with a fresh tape and a camera with a roll of film always within my reach. It was a natural fit for me to professionally document weddings and events. After over ten years of being a professional wedding photographer, I wanted more. To share my expansive vision of the photograph. So, on a long-distance phone call, I described a black and white photo embellished with turquoise to my BFF Tara Messina and the ideas of doing a collection together was born. “Come Into My Lair” was a phrase I used to heckle when sharing my passion for all things beautiful. We thought it was the perfect name to encompass all the art we have to share.

Has it been a smooth road?
Life has its challenges. I think at this point after having a child and a family, it is very easy to get distracted. My advice to anyone starting their journey is to stay focused. Your journey will only go as fast as you. Results are directly in proportion to effort. If you are young and debating about going to college or trade school or interning or apprenticing, do it! You will never again have as much time to focus on yourself as after high school. Everything just gets harder from there.

We’d love to hear more about Notosphotos Photography.
What makes Notosphotos Photography so special to us is that we get to travel and see family and friends across the country regularly. We use this time together to create the beautiful things of Come Into My Lair. These things include mixed media art pieces that have been exhibited and sold, the cover of the 2019 Brown Trout Ballet calendar, being published in magazines, our YouTube Channel and so much more. We have big visions for our company to share art and passion with the world.

We also just did our first photography job out of the country in Mexico! As well as humanitarian work for the local police and fire departments.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Stay focused.
