Meet Trailblazer Jenifer Janniere

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenifer Janniere.

Jenifer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
When I was young, I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up, but the one thing I could envision was glimpses of myself dressed up as a businesswoman. The vision represented drive, independence, and achievements. At a young age, I knew I wanted my life to be a reflection of those words.

Prior to my senior year in high school, my mom got remarried and decided to move to a different city which required me to transfer schools my senior year. I don’t recall being upset or sad about being pulled out of high school, but I knew that going to a new high school wasn’t something I wanted to do. So, I decided to explore homeschooling. This decision would soon lead me down the path to discovering my career and purpose.
I had so much extra time after completing my school work that the remainder of my day was spent watching HGTV. I didn’t realize that the shows were nourishing a passion within, all I knew is that I felt connected and inspired. My senior year had finally come to an end, and one thing was clear I wanted to become an interior designer.

In 2008, I got “accepted” into the interior Design Associates of Arts program at FIDM Downtown Los Angeles. Although I chose a degree and school with weighted tuition, I knew I was following a desire that I needed to explore. Within three months of completing the two-year program, I started my career in Interior Design at IMT Residential. The universe placed me under the wings of a company with great leadership and value that helped me build a foundation to build my business goals on.

Fast forward six years, I found myself wanting more, once again I wasn’t sure what I was yearning for but I knew I wanted more. More freedom. More adventure. More time for love. More time for family. More time to experience life. Interior Design was still at the very core of my being but my life felt predictable and safe. I dabbled into furniture design and started my own company but I was trying to wear too many hats. I felt like a tiny fish in a big sea of sharks. Although I loved the entire experience, when I decided to stop pursuing furniture design I felt a sense of relief; this was a sign that I needed to pause and reflect before unlocking the door to a new beginning.

So, I did just that. I paused. Went to therapy to heal parts of me that I didnt realize were broken. As I drew closer to God I began to notice that alot of my brokeness steamed from lack of self love, shame, and rejection to name a few wounds. I didn’t realize I was bandaging these wounds through night outs in hollywood and uncontrolled drinking. The closer I got to God the more clear it became that I needed to stop drinking if I really wanted to embrace my purpose, so I did ,with the help of AA. That spirtual awakening lead me to where I am today, in Arizona, pursuing real estate while working full time in interior design. I am a full-time Interior Designer at Restoration Hardware and part-time agent at Keller Williams Realty Arizona. I actually go licensed in California when I was 18 years old but at the time, I had no internal or external guidance to guide me towards success in real estate. It’s fascinating to see my desire(s) come full circle at a time where I understand processes, being of service, and living a life with purpose. What I’ve learned the most from this journey is that my intuition /God is ALWAYS guiding me down the right path, I just have to be present, patient, and willing to take action. I am excited to see where I will be a year from now, I know God has great plans and opportunities for me to experience. This is just the beginning.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ladies, sometimes we can be our worst critic. Sometimes we find ourselves spending an endless amount of time worrying about people and situations that we can not control. Sometimes we let our insecurities overpower our thoughts and emotions which robs us of our self love. What if we chose to cut out all of the above, the chatter, the anxiety, the self-doubt? Think about how much we would grow and achieve if we spoke love into our life instead of doubt, we would ignite our purpose and pursue it fearlessly. If I had to choose one piece of advice, it would be to follow your gut, be authentic, do not seek validation from others (especially men) and always consult with God. He is our best friend, business partner, and life coach.
