Meet Trailblazer Heather Starr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Starr.

Heather, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I worked for a Fast Food chain as a Training District Manager for years and had always thought about going back to school. Originally, I wanted to go for only makeup, but after touring a local Aesthetics School, I decided to do skin and makeup! School was rewarding, and it helped me to figure out my true passion, Lashes! Originally, lashes were not what was on the plan to do. The class was hard and the time it was going to take to get good was frustrating. But I pushed through and absolutely fell in love! Lashing has totally changed my life! I love making people feel beautiful and being in a career path in the beauty industry is a dream come true!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road was a little bumpy along the way. Only due to the lack of belief in myself and starting Starr Aesthetics. If I had had more confidence in myself, everything would have gone so much smoother. My advice for others would be to have the confidence to take that first step and don’t let anyone hold you back!

We’d love to hear more about Starr Aesthetics.
I specialize in Lash Extensions and Dermaplaning at Starr Aesthetics. It’s important to me that clients see a difference in either their skin or lashes when they visit my spa. With a Dermaplaning Facial, the result is immediate and has helped so many of my clients start to love their skin all over again. While Lashes are finally letting everyone walk around makeup free and still feel beautiful in their own skin! It’s the best of both worlds!

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
My parents always pushed us kids to strive for success. Not to be average but to be amazing! Without them, I know I wouldn’t be where I am today.
