Meet Trailblazer Chloe Rizzo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Rizzo.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Chloe. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started beauty school when I was in high school, I always cut and colored my own hair and decided it was something I was good at. I got my license when I was 18 and immediately started my career at a salon in Chandler as an assistant. It was hard and hours were long but in the hair industry that’s where you start. I didn’t see much future in that salon and I wanted to love my career and I found myself at Juut. I wanted to find passion and inspiration and that’s exactly what I got. I’ve been at Juut for almost two years and I’ve built a wonderful clientele and I’m fortunate enough to make people feel beautiful and show them real, honest human connection. I’m a firm believer on loving your job and not settling for anything less and that’s what I plan on doing for however long I physically can!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No career that you love is ever smooth sailing, although I will say I’ve never had a problem finding a job I wanted. There’s always an inkling of self-doubt but you learn to grow around it and start to build your confidence the longer you do it. Surrounding yourself with good people is also extremely important, you need people who are going to let you know it’s going to be okay. I really recommend to step away and find little things you can do alone to clear your mind after the stress of working all day. Whether it’s writing in a journal, working out, skin care, basically any type of self-care will make you feel better in some way. Always know there’s going to be a tomorrow and that it gets better.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Juut SalonSpa – what should we know?
I do hair and work at an amazing salon. I feel like my acceptance and being personable is what sets me apart, I feel like I can connect with my guests on any level and I’m quite easy to talk to. My goal at the salon is to let other people unload their baggage and to relax as well as making them feel more like themselves physically. I love being a daymaker and that’s essentially our goal at Juut, we’re a very tight-knit group of people and it’s easy to make life long friends with colleagues and you can’t find that everywhere.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Don’t ever sell yourself short. You owe it to yourself to be confident and believe in your talent. Even when there’s totally going to be days you feel like giving up, there’s always going to be something pushing you along till you hit your goal or maybe get promoted or move forward within your career. You are your own boss, no matter what, you get to make your decisions, that’s what being a badass woman is all about. Push away negativity, whether it’s people or maybe something going on in your own brain, once you let positivity in, the rest is easy.
