Meet Trailblazer Carly Casoria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carly Casoria.

Carly, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Sky and Arrow was founded on the principle that raising the next generation with a passion to give back. We overwhelming wanted to live our days and lives sharing a strong sense of purpose and passion together and with our children.

Teaching kindness and compassion, from our family to yours, we hope you enjoy this great adventure called life, as we learn to give more, love more, and focus on people, not their situation.

The warmth and comfort of a blanket just felt like the best combination of sharing our vision while teaching our children how beautiful and life-changing it is to walk in kindness:

1. We envision cultivating relationships and creating memories around our blankets. Beach days, desert bonfires, adventures in the mountains, and being awestruck over epic views, all while knowing the blanket in tow is an act of kindness.

2. We see acts of kindness. A sense of warmth, comfort and even security to someone else who wouldn’t have otherwise.

3. By building relationships with hardworking people who are trying to provide for their families by selling these handmade items. We support them and give them business, which in turn, leads to better quality of life.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a wife , raising two young children, 1 crazy but so cute puppy, starting a brand new business, and keeping up with my house… it’s a lot.

I learned early on I wanted to let the vibe of our business grow organically.

That may sound nice, lol but sometimes it can be rough, you know, growing organic doesn’t mean straight to the top lol but, in those moments, I’m learning to be way more great full, to remember how hard life is and be so thankful for our cause to wrap someone in kindness, That is the heart and grand purpose of Sky and Arrow … kindness through giving back.

As a first-time business owner, there was and is always so much to learn.

My advice to other women out there is don’t compromise. If you have a vision and you know what you want, stick with your gut! None of this is easy. But the reward for all your hard work is so worth it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Sky and Arrow – what should we know?
We are not just a blanket company. We are a reversed non-profit 501 c 3. We are a one for one company. Dollar for dollar.

We are not just another blanket company.

When we began dreaming of Sky& Arrow, quality was my biggest concern. It mattered to me that I gave what I would want to receive.

We looked at the standard “donation” blankets, and I just wanted more. Something that would last a little longer, provide a little more warmth, and little more cushion for sitting on.

We can proudly say that we give the exact same blankets you buy.

How cool is that!

We give beautifully colored Mexican blankets. It’s so fun to give these beautiful blankets, and then, get such a loving response. One of the dear residents was so overwhelmed with how pretty her blanket made her feel, she brought us all to tears.

She felt loved, and warm, and that makes us at Sky and Arrow feel so so thankful! 😊 That’s what it’s all about.

When you buy a blanket from us, you can feel good about what you giving back. We give to more than just homeless. We give to natural disaster, homeless shelters, and any emergency we are needed.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major actor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
I am truly grateful to have my husband by my side. He has been my rock, and guided me a long the way. He has had my back and taught me so much. We are not just a business but a Non-Profit.

We both grew up with amazing people in our lives who first handed showed us what giving back looks like.

Both sets of our parents are power houses. They lead us by example of how to work hard, we watched them go through ups and downs and never giving up. Going through life with grace and perseverance.   How a little kindness does change things. Changes hearts. The impact of a family like that, your values will stick you know what I mean.

In our teenage years, we started going to Mexico to build houses. That impacted my life forever. I knew I wanted to do something to change peoples lives.

Also, encouragement from friends. I have one friend who owns a small business Raw Metal Decor (check it out if you get a chance). But her encouragement has kept me motivated for sure! It’s fun to have someone who knows what your going through and who cheers you on!
