Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Trull.
Brittany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I create content on many social media platforms. I started with youtube years ago and have had an incredible journey meeting so many other creators thru it. I travel all over the United States for conventions and I have met other influencers all around the world.
I started pursuing blogging as well recently. It has been very rewarding as you meet amazing people and are able to help people find themselves and their happiness along the way.
Has it been a smooth road?
I do not believe any road is smooth, you will have struggles with anything you pursue but all the bumps will make you grow immensely and teach you so much! I struggle a lot with my friends being more successful than I am in this industry. For me, I remind myself it isn’t about the success and more about finding my happiness and helping whoever I can along the way.
If you have a passion, don’t give up when it gets tough or you aren’t getting results as quickly as you had hoped or as fast as the others around you.
Everyone has their own time to shine!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I work as a full-time office manager at my aunt and uncle’s insurance agency. I also work as an elementary school mentor and am finishing up my college degree.
My YouTube channel and Instagram are what I am most proud of and put my extra time into.
I try and focus on the content I like to consume. I often explore Arizona and locations that seem to intrigue me.
I take pictures and vlog while I’m there and spend a lot of time creating and trying to stay inspired.
I am going to school for advertising and marketing which helps me grow this business more.
I think being myself and as raw with my life as possible sets me aside from others as often social media are filled with highlights of people’s lives.
I want my audience to know life isn’t always perfect or easy. We all have bad days but we don’t have bad lives.
I am most proud of the community I have grown. My platforms are a fun, safe, and loving place for people to come and be distracted for a couple of minutes of their crazy lives.
Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
What has worked best for me is finding people I think I relate to and just reaching out.
Saying hi is the scariest part but I have made so many mentors and friends that way.
We are lucky with the social media industry that a direct message can start an interaction but most people love your support and love to help others.
I also have signed up for events that I knew would allow me to market better, I have attended events such as Vidcon, Beautycon, Pax, etc. and built my circle around people I have met and related to at those as well.
