Alicia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been into self-care and beauty. Ordering at home sugaring, waxing and hair removal kits from infomercials on TV at 10 years old. The latest skincare product or & the newest trend in a magazine would become my obsession for the month. Doing my all my friends makeup, hair and eyebrows was on ongoing pastime. I found out later that I fit perfectly into the world of beauty & all it has to offer. A simple fashion or beauty tip/trick can make a personal statement & make a busy life a little more fun.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road. Trends change and the mass beauty market is competitive and sometimes overwhelming. Keeping up with the demands and the endurance to stay well versed and educated is challenging. However it is rewarding to help women & men be more confident inside & out. All while maintaining a healthier lifestyle & polished appearance.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Chíc Artistry Studio – what should we know?
I have worked in beauty retail, spa & salon management, makeup artistry and as a skincare therapist/ esthetician. I am known for providing relaxing treatments as well as beauty enhancing lessons & services.

What sets me apart is my attention to detail. I can help bring forth someone’s inner beauty & look years younger with brow design, a makeover, or a renewing skincare treatment. My commitment to using quality products & natural ingredients promotes overall health, wellness and a stunning first impressions.

We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
I believe the biggest barrier in my industry is lack of integrity. Providing an exceptional experience for clients starts with a true connection and desire to make a client look & feel better than they did before. If a client feels comfortable and trusts that I am able to listen to their needs, recommend a solution, and offer consistency, they are more likely to return for a service or treatment again & again.
