Today we’d like to introduce you to Toria Tolley
Hi Toria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always had a passion for baking and have very fond memories decorating cookies with my grandmother every holiday and giving them out to family and friends. I also have always been someone who loved birthdays and my friends would call me the “birthday fairy” because I would go all-out for their special day. I wanted to combine my love for celebrating others with baking. I started baking cakes and desserts for my loved ones’ birthdays and then it turned into a business when I was overwhelmed with orders.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. One struggle I face is being a full-time student and having a job on top of that. I have very little time to bake and decorate the cakes but I always find time for my customers even in the late hours of the night or early mornings!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I own a small dessert business and I get most of my orders through social media, @toriastreatsaz
I specialize in cakes and more specifically, vintage heart cakes. I also make cookies, cookie cakes, cake pops and more! I am proud that I am a full-time student and working a job while also running this business.
I am proud that I am utilizing the skills I am learning from my college classes to market myself on social media to get more orders and lets more people know about my brand!
