Meet Tochukwu Okafor of Lintoc Care in Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tochukwu Okafor.

A first-generation immigrant from Africa, who came to the US at 23 in the late 90’s looking for greener pastures. Went through a lot of ups and downs trying to work two jobs and go to college at the same time. Graduated from New Jersey City University (NJCU) with a bachelor of science degree. Later obtained a master’s degree (MPA) from Walden University.

Worked for the state of Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) for 10 years before discovering a more gratifying way to give back to the community. Lintoc Care, LLC was registered in January 2015 and started its full operation in January 2016. Today the company has 47 employees providing direct care to our valued clients.

As a published author, “The Joy of Success: What It Means To Transform Success Into Excellence” was written to inspire the target audience to stand to a challenge against the impediments of life. As it became more apparent to share more true-life stories of an adventurous and industrious young immigrant, “Surviving In a Dangerous World” was published.

Has it been a smooth road?
Living alone with no siblings, parents or friends in a very cold state of New Jersey was very hard. Dropping out of William Paterson University, Wayne, New Jersey, was a devastating moment but the break was needed in order to reorganize and have a fresh start of an American school life.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lintoc Care, LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
Lintoc Care is a licensed and insured private company owned by a former law enforcement officer, who after 10 years of public service, has decided to take his passion for humanity to the next level – which is to be a part of special needs individuals and their families while assisting them in making choices that enhance their independence, self-esteem, dignity and value. The company is developed to be a trusted home care agency, which offers unique medical and non-medical services to qualified consumers in Arizona.

Our agency is contracted with the State of Arizona. It is registered with Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and services are reimbursed by Medicaid and other private insurance carriers. It is our obligation to follow the regulations and guidelines for providing home care services to consumers in the State of Arizona. We provide services at the consumers’ homes or at a site chosen by the consumers, and we supervise our developmental homes, as well as our nursing, supported group homes.

Our passion to help special needs individuals supersedes our financial desires. Our willingness to always maintain a good reputation will definitely be beneficial to the growth and development of this company. The integrity of Lintoc Care certifies that the company stands by the truth at all times. In other words, the company is fundamentally built on honesty and compassion, which leads to absolute transparency and excellence.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Lintoc will diversify into many areas of the healthcare industry, but yet to be disclosed.
