Today we’d like to introduce you to TK Strickland.
Hi TK, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
If you had met me years ago, you would have seen a woman who was ambitious, accomplished, and determined to build a life she could be proud of. What you wouldn’t have seen were the quiet battles—the health challenges that shook my identity, the internal struggles I didn’t yet have language for, the burnout that dimmed my joy, and the pressure to measure up in rooms where I rarely felt fully seen. My journey didn’t begin with confidence; it began with survival. From a young age, I had vision, drive, and an inner fire—but no guidance to nurture it. I grew up battling the belief that I wasn’t “enough.” Not pretty enough. Not supported enough. Too dark. Too quiet. Too much. Not enough all at the same time. And still, I pushed forward with what I had: determination and resilience.
My early career took me into the entertainment industry, where I earned paid internships with major television networks and worked behind the scenes on well-known TV shows and films. I even assisted in casting for various productions. These opportunities shaped my understanding of storytelling and human behavior. But even with bright lights and incredible experiences, I still felt disconnected from myself.
My life took a dramatic turn when I was diagnosed with a rare and severe form of epilepsy—one that deteriorated part of my brain. I lost large portions of my long-term memory and had to learn how to remember again. During that time, I battled depression, deep internal conflict, and moments where I questioned if I would ever feel whole or purposeful again. That season broke me, but it also rebuilt me.
My healing wasn’t instant; it was a process. I rebuilt myself piece by piece. I committed to personal development, emotional resilience, identity work, and the psychology of transformation. Those years didn’t just save my life—they revealed my purpose. I realized I wasn’t meant to simply talk about transformation. I was meant to engineer it, design it, and activate it in others.
Before stepping fully into my calling, I built a successful career in the financial industry. Working closely with teams, clients, and corporate leaders gave me a deeper understanding of the internal pressure that high achievers carry—the burnout, the identity conflicts, the emotional disconnection, and the silent struggles behind outward success. These insights became the foundation of my coaching philosophy.
Today, I am recognized as a Strategic Identity Architect & Transformation Engineer Expert, a title that reflects my unique ability to help individuals break internal barriers, strengthen their identity, reclaim their power, and lead themselves into the life they were created for. I work with executives and senior leaders, high-achieving professionals, entrepreneurs and visionaries, entertainers and creatives, athletes, and students, community leaders, and organizations. Through my signature program Become the Leader of Your Life, along with workshops, retreats, corporate trainings, keynotes, and coaching experiences, I’ve helped countless individuals gain clarity, confidence, direction, and emotional resilience.
I’ve had the honor of speaking for and partnering with The Women’s Expo, The American Heart Association, Top 100 Women in Power – Hollywood Experience, Arizona State University, Kiwanis, high schools and student leadership programs, public libraries, community organizations, corporate teams, and numerous conferences and panel discussions. My podcast, TK Conversations, is a transformational space where honest dialogue and self-reflection help listeners reconnect with who they are beyond their titles.
Outside of my work, I am a wife of 22 years and a proud mother of two beautiful daughters. They are the heart of my purpose—the reason I rise, rebuild, and lead with intention. Family is not just a part of my life; it is my why.
My story is proof that transformation isn’t a moment—it’s a decision. I chose to heal. I chose to rise. I chose to reclaim my identity. And now, I help others do the same. My message is simple but life-changing: you can be successful on the outside and still feel lost on the inside. But you don’t have to stay there. You can rebuild, reimagine, and rise into the leader you were created to be.
I am living proof of that.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. My journey has been full of challenges, and in many ways, I’m still navigating obstacles. But I’ve evolved. I’ve learned how to shift my mindset, reframe my experiences, and see myself — and my story — through a lens of strength instead of limitation. Some of the struggles that shaped me include:
Growing up believing I wasn’t pretty enough — because of the things I was told and how I was treated.
Internalizing that I was “too dark” — and being taught that lighter skin was more beautiful.
Being told I was too quiet — not because I didn’t have a voice, but because I didn’t feel heard, except by one person.
Constantly feeling like I didn’t belong — even in spaces where I worked hard to earn my place.
Being diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy — which shattered me emotionally as I lost parts of my long-term memory and had to learn how to remember again.
Facing depression, anxiety, pressure, and the weight of always being the strong one — even when I was breaking inside.
None of these experiences were easy, but each one pushed me toward the woman I am today. They taught me resilience, emotional intelligence, self-leadership, and the power of identity and now, they allow me to help others rise through their own battles.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about TK Strickland?
What I want people to know about my business is that what I do isn’t traditional coaching—it’s deep, identity-driven transformation. My work helps high-achieving individuals break the internal barriers that success alone can’t fix. So many strong, accomplished people are carrying heavy emotional weight behind the scenes, and that is exactly where my work begins. As a Strategic Identity Architect & Transformation Engineer Expert, I help leaders, professionals, creatives, and visionaries rebuild the parts of themselves they had to silence in order to survive. My philosophy is simple: when you transform your internal identity, everything in your life elevates with it.
Through my workshops, retreats, coaching experiences, and my signature “Become the Leader of Your Life” program, I guide people through a powerful, structured process designed to break long-standing patterns, rebuild confidence, strengthen identity, and help them navigate high-pressure seasons with clarity and purpose. People often come to me feeling stuck or disconnected from the success they’ve built, and they leave with a renewed sense of self—powerful, aligned, and unstoppable. At the heart of everything I do is the belief that you weren’t meant to just survive your life… you were meant to transform it.
What I do is help high-achieving individuals realign with who they truly are so they can lead their lives with clarity, confidence, and purpose. I work with executives, entrepreneurs, creatives, athletes, and high-capacity individuals who appear successful on the outside but know there is a deeper, more aligned version of themselves waiting to emerge. Whether it’s through executive coaching, group programs, workshops, retreats, or my signature curriculum, my work bridges identity science, emotional intelligence, and mindset engineering to help people step boldly into the person their next level requires.
I specialize in identity-driven transformation and am known for guiding people through breakthrough moments that help them see themselves clearly, dissolve long-standing patterns, rebuild inner confidence, and move from feeling stuck to becoming unstoppable. I help clients rediscover who they truly are beneath pressure, expectations, past experiences, and the “strong one” identity they’ve carried for years. My approach blends emotional intelligence, psychological insight, lived experience, and transformational methodology, allowing the work to be deeply personal and effective for anyone—leaders, high achievers, entertainers, students, parents, or anyone ready to grow and evolve.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just teach transformation—I’ve lived it. I rebuilt my identity after a rare epilepsy diagnosis, memory loss, depression, burnout, and years of feeling unseen. Because I’ve walked through my own breaking and rebuilding, I can see the truth beneath someone’s success—the patterns, wounds, pressures, and beliefs they’ve carried for years. My work doesn’t focus on motivation or behavior alone; it focuses on identity, which is why the change lasts long after the conversation ends. My gift is helping people access the version of themselves that has always existed beneath the noise, expectations, and survival patterns—the version that life forced them to hide.
Brand-wise, I am most proud that my business represents real transformation—not surface-level inspiration. Everything I’ve built is rooted in authenticity, emotional intelligence, and identity work that truly changes lives. My brand has become a trusted space where high achievers, leaders, and everyday individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered to rise into who they were meant to be. I’m proud that people walk away not just motivated, but transformed—carrying clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of self into every area of their lives.
What I want readers to know is that my brand is designed for people who are ready for meaningful, internal change—the kind that affects how you think, lead, love, and live. My services are not one-size-fits-all; they are personalized, intentional, and created to meet you where you are while guiding you deeper than you’ve ever gone. Whether you’re a leader, creative, student, parent, athlete, or someone navigating a life transition, my brand offers the tools, support, and identity work needed to rise. You don’t need to become someone else—you only need to connect with the strongest version of yourself. And everything I offer is designed to help you do exactly that.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When it comes to finding a mentor or networking, the best advice I can give is to be intentional about who you allow to pour into you. Don’t look for someone who is simply successful—look for someone who reflects the kind of person and leader you’re becoming. A true mentor doesn’t just teach strategy; they help shape your character, strengthen your mindset, and support your identity. In networking, authenticity matters more than anything. The most meaningful connections happen when you show up as yourself, not who you think you should be to impress someone. People are drawn to sincerity, confidence, purpose, and energy—and they always remember how you make them feel. And don’t be afraid to reach out. Some of the best opportunities I’ve ever had came from simply introducing myself, asking a thoughtful question, or expressing genuine appreciation for someone’s work. You don’t always need to see the full path—sometimes you just need to take the first step.
The right mentor or network won’t just open doors for you; they will help you recognize the doors within yourself. Surround yourself with people who challenge you, support you, and inspire you to rise into the next version of who you’re becoming.
As for what has worked well for me, it’s been intentionally surrounding myself with like-minded people and environments that reflect who I am becoming—not who I used to be. Growth can be uncomfortable because it often requires leaving familiar circles and stepping into spaces that stretch you. But those are the rooms where transformation happens.
Being intentional about the company I keep has elevated both my personal life and my business. Connecting with individuals who challenge my thinking, support my vision, and inspire me to stretch beyond my comfort zone has opened doors I could never have imagined. I show up with authenticity, intention, purpose, and alignment—committed to being the best version of myself.
Another key factor has been doing the internal work first. I learned early on that I couldn’t lead others if I wasn’t leading myself. Investing in my own healing, growth, and self-awareness—while facing the hard, uncomfortable truths about who I was and who I wanted to become—was the foundation for everything that came after. I stay grounded in my purpose and trust the process even when the path isn’t clear. Fear and doubt still show up, but I’ve learned to take the step anyway.
All of this has contributed to where I am today. Growth requires intention, alignment, and courage, but it is always worth it.
