Meet Tiffany Gallen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Gallen.

Tiffany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I began my career in visual design in 2002 as the gallery specialist at Z Gallerie in Scottsdale, AZ. There I brought the Kierland Commons gallery location to number one in the company for four years through creating gallery walls that were designed to tell stories in sections.

Over the last decade, I’ve dedicated myself at home to raising my three daughters. As a hobby, I started developing skills to maximize the use of iPhone photography to create and capture incredible images; images that inspire me and others to enjoy the everyday and ordinary moments of being a mom. This drove me to fine-tune my craft.

In 2016, my husband and I purchased a restaurant in Phoenix, AZ where I assumed the role as creative director for all social media outlets in our company, where I was again, creating stories through my photos of food and wine in the gallery walls of Instagram.

From there, friends were taking notice to my photography skills and started outsourcing me to help with their Instagram. Helping one friend turned in to a referral which lead to more and I now run nine Instagram accounts as the visual content director, actively creating and publishing original content to each account.

I am passionate about capturing images of my life through the lens of my camera and creating content to visually brand a person or a product. All with my phone; many hours being in the school pick up line! I take #workfromanywhere to heart!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My biggest struggle was self-belief. As my journey was manifesting, I had some people in my life tell me that if I didn’t do it a certain way I was not hirable. That left me with a lot of doubt, “Do I really have what it takes to make this into a legit business if I don’t do XYZ?’ and “Am I able to do this all as a stay at home mom with three kids?”. But as I continued to focus on what I was good at, people started to take notice. One account turned in to 4 accounts by the end of the year and one year later, nearly doubling from the previous year. All while finding mini moments between raising my girls to do so.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I create visual content for a person or product on Instagram. I talk through a client’s vision, and goal for their brand and discuss the aesthetic that suits their concept and the visual preferences that define their social media.

I build a sample spread of the types of images that will be used, overall layout, and brand-specific aesthetic that tell their story, I create a twelve image snapshot that gives them an idea of what our future collaboration will look like.

From thereafter we team up, I discuss in greater detail the frequency of posts, image sources, content creation, and all the other fine-tuning a client’s account will require to meet their goals.

Every three months, I make myself available for a review of their account, goals met, and any adjustments that are needed for any changing goals or aesthetic redirection.

My goal with every client is to set them apart from the rest. To fine-tune who they are through visually displaying their story on Instagram.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Building my client list. I would love to take on more local clients. Aside from creating beautiful Instagram pages, I love iPhone photography. I would love to be able to make site visits to local shops/business and utilize that skill to their IG pages for a more authentic unscripted look.
