Meet Tiesha Harrison of I Love This Journey PR + Events in Central Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiesha Harrison.

Tiesha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Sometimes, we have to go through life experiences that are challenging and beautiful in order to find peace within ourselves. I Love This Journey PR + Events was created during a time I wanted to inspire others but the one person who needed the inspiration the most was ME. In 2018, I experienced a break-up from a well-invested relationship along with other life challenges that robbed the happiness from my world, literally. I felt like I was spiraling down a dark path of Depression once again that I had experienced 10 years prior for six years. I was stuck in a whirlwind of emotions, anger, and darkness that I had to make an important decision to choose ME, MY BEAUTY WITHIN.

Thankful for the previous experience, I was well prepared for this journey. I was devoted to a 3-month self love practice and retreat which focused on 7 components to change my perception on the situation:

Self-Awareness (S)
Creativity – (C)
Reflection in Nature – (R)
Expression – (E)
Art – (A)
Music – (M)
Mindful Living – (M)

My soul needed to S.C.R.E.A.M.M. and it most certainly did. It was powerful in so many ways spiritually, emotionally and mentally. I allowed myself to feel the emotions unapologetically, if it meant crying then I cried. When I was angry, I EXPRESSED it freely through words on paper. I allowed my body to grieve and I was SELF AWARE of these moments. Every morning for three months straight I had a pen and a journal in all areas of my home to write candidly about how I felt, it was beautiful. I was at peace within myself on a deeper level to move forward in my life. My Beauty Within Movement was launched.

MBW Movement uses art, beauty, and expression to create a series of transforming, insightful and inspirational events. It is the deepest journey of consciousness of who I am. It is the path of my unfolding, my becoming, my wholeness and beingness. It is my true nature, I am inspired by all aspects of life whether it’s amazing or not so sweet picture-perfect moments.

For the first event, this past January 11th I contacted a collective of creatives to contribute their energy to the event and inspire another with their story whether it was done visually or through words. Seven poets and 11 artists. The 11 ARTISTS challenge was to dig deep within and portray this on the canvas. The seven POETS expressed themselves through their art of words and once the artists felt inspired she or he painted on their canvas that was randomly placed around the room. Expression of ART. This is so exciting because the audience, artists, and poets did not know what to expect.

The numbers 711 and 111 and 1111 is symbolic for the MBW Movement events. These number sequences led me to beautiful experiences and aha moments. I kept seeing these numbers often whether it was through street address, social media, times, etc. I like to say since I followed these signs it helped me create a beautiful event which started with having people hold signs that says, “My Beauty Within is______________” in the middle of Cityscape. Now it evolved into an expressive artistic event that the community looks forward to attending.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a bittersweet journey. The struggles along the way turned into beautiful life lessons that needed to manifest in order to grow the business. I love to view the small bumps in the road as a conscious adjustment from a higher power.

Starting a company has not been easy, there are days when I ask myself if it is really for me and then I meet a badass artist, a friend who attended my first event who is excited to attend the next or wake up with a VISION of impact. It fuels my soul to collaborate with the community and hear stories from others. The investment in the community and personally is equally important when it comes to mental health and expressing ourselves authentically. This is my why! According to the World Health Organization, “300 million people around the world have depression.” Now, this is a struggle.

Other moments of challenges are:
* Finding funding, partnerships, and sponsorships
* Balancing a full-time position, business, and personal life
* Building a team

I Love This Journey.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about I Love This Journey PR + Events – what should we know?
I Love This Journey PR + Events was given to me through prayer. I prayed to have a platform to inspire others and the domain name, “I Love This Journey” came to me. It was perfect. I decided to use this platform to inspire others through creative expression, events, campaigns and projects. We now have the following within the I Love This Journey PR + Events company: My Beauty Within Movement, The SCREAMM Project and we continue to build an impactful empire for our community.

A little more about our newest addition The S.C.R.E.A.M.M Project:

The S.C.R.E.A.M.M Project (Self-Awareness. Creativity. Reflection in Nature. Expression. Art. Music. Meditation.) The S.C.R.E.A.M.M Project is a seven-day conscious practice that I designed for the Mesa Arts Center’s Creative Catalyst Leadership Program to help the 300 million people worldwide who are actively battling depression. After overcoming depression with these 7 components, I was inspired to partner and collaborate with influencers and organizations across the world to drive the future to NO DEPRESSION by sharing our stories through CREATIVE EXPRESSION.

On January 11th, The S.C.R.E.A.M.M Project submissions of photos, stories and videos will be used to create a photo collage and/or video compilation for a motivational event called “My Beauty Within Movement” in Mesa, AZ. My ask? Is for the individuals to submit up to 10 photos or videos that showcase your experience with the highs and lows in life. These stories will be shared with students, mental health treatment centers, community leaders, and corporations who are on a mission to empower those struggling with depression as part of The S.C.R.E.A.M.M Project tour. Be creative, be authentic, and know your story will impact another soul.

We look forward to continued growth and IMPACT.

When you look back, what are you most proud of?
Native of Arizona who grew up in West Phoenix as the oldest of seven children. I made it my life motto to lead by example for my brothers and sisters. I reflected deeply on this question and found one common theme amongst all my experiences in life: VISUALIZATION, SPIRITUALITY, and TAKING THE FIRST STEP towards making my dreams and aspirations come to reality.

The most memorable memory of all times is asking my friend for help in registering my business. I remember completing the application with the help of my friend, James. I had tears in my eyes and thanked him with a big hug. It was the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I had the opportunity to speak with artists, poets, and amAZing hosts around the valley for interviews: The Alvin Galloway Show on Radio Phoenix, Feminine Essence Podcast by Steffi Jo, Finding Arizona Podcast by Jose Acevedo and Brittany Johnson, and The Arizona Informant which lead to the day of my event on January 11th. Another proud moment.

Over 100 beautiful souls attended. 7:11 p.m. it was showtime and the rest was history. The energy in the room was beyond what I could imagine for my first event. I am forever grateful for my family, bestie, sponsors, friends and EVERYONE who was involved from the host Ashley LaRae Sampson to the seven poets and 11 artists who poured out their heart. I’m glad I had a front row seat to the experience.
