Meet Tiana Brown of Tiana Monet Real Estate LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiana Brown

Tiana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have loved design since middle school. We didn’t come from much, but I always loved for my room to look great. As I got older and moved over to my first apartment and started to buy homes for my daughter and I, my friends and family would always compliment my decor.

I entered my first semester of college at GCC thinking I was going to go into interior design, but ended up graduating with a degree in Finance and Economics at GCU. I still loved design and my friends knew it, so one day a best friend of mine told me that her friend wanted me to help her with her place. I charged her $500. I felt like I was on to something. I prayed for more paying clients and knew I would run out of friends. I found an app where I get all of my leads from. I established myself as an actual business and have been going ever since.

I am now work in both residential and commercial design. I work for myself full time and support residence and busineses all over Arizona.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In no way has this been smooth. I knew what I knew and I didn’t know what I didn’t know. On every project, I am learning something new. I love when there are moments I stop and think, WOW, I am not the same designer I was when I first started. I get through consultations differently, I charge differently and I just overall know more of the ins and outs of creating a beautiful space.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
An interior design company, passionate about making affordable design available to everyday people. All designs begin with getting to know our clients and then capturing their design plans. From residential to commercial projects, we aspire to make your design dreams come to life.

My business has been able to capture clients who have never used a designer before. We are able to build trust with out clients and create beautiful spaces.

An ideal client for TMR are people who do not need to be in control of their design and who are excited to have someone come in listen to them about how they use the space and what type of Design style they gravitate towards, then trust us with the rest. There are some clients who don’t need to see anything prior to ordering, but for the majority, we do share all items prior to ordering and there are no surprises.

Brand wise I am most proud of how we treat our clients. I have seen so many repeat clients and our business thrives on direct referrals and others reading reviews about client experiences.

TMR is a commercial and residential interior design company. We work with all licensed trades and general contractors. We are a tight group who thrive to do a Job well done. Our teams are very down to earth and really fun to work with.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I am a single mother. I was a COO here in the valley for a consulting firm and that role came to an end. Thankfully I have been running my design business and had a client base to continue and projects to share for future work.

It was a risk because when you work for yourself you do not always know where the next project is going to come from. Design is one of my God given talents next to how I interact with people. I love people.

Everyday, I always believe that the right people and projects will come and they have.

The risk was moving forward with trusting God and my work ethic and continuing the race of design rather than taking on any job to have “stability”. The real stability I needed was in my mind and less stress in my life. Working for myself provides that for me and there is no dollar amount I can put on that.

I bet on myself everyday and let God fill in the blanks. Although there are a lot of hard days and a lot of hard moments, I believing this is how we are supposed to live. Walking in our gift and letting it make room for us.
