Today we’d like to introduce you to Theresa Garner-Speed, Latisha Speed.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Last year February 13th, 2013. I could hardly breathe. Went to my doctor, she requested me to get a scan of my chest due to previous issues. Well it came back I had blood clots on both sides of my lungs and she immediately arranged for me to be admitted that day. I remember sitting in my room angrily but laughing with my partner. I just looked and said this is what we’re about to do. We’re creating body butters. We’re creating body butters for people like us. Sensitive, acne prone, body aches and so forth. I wrote down everything I could think of from scents to combining scents, to the ingredients and so forth. Once I was released from the hospital. Humble Experience was in full production.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been easy. We’re still having some challenges, but we won’t stop. One struggle is profit, selling and so forth. We’re not generating money like we thought we would as our body butters are specifically made to order by skin type, concern if any allergies and so on. We use all-natural organic ingredients. So we are surprised that more people are not flocking to us

Humble Experience Organic Skincare & Body Potions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a skincare company that specializes in skin and body issues. Our body butters, scrubs and bath salts all help with different ailments someone is experiencing. It brings comfort, relaxation and ease. Our body butters target people with dry to severely dry skin, eczema, aches, pains, hydrates and moisturizes. Bath salts help with inflammation, aches, pains especially people that suffer from arthritis & other bone and muscle aches. The scrubs aids in ridding dead skin, uncovering healthy glowing skin, softens, hydrates and moisturize. We are mostly known for our body butters and scrubs. I’m most proud that we had the guts to start our business. What sets us apart from others is that you can customize your scent to your liking. We have over 150 scents and you get to create your beautiful or handsome scent. You get to tell us what you’re targeting and we create your products for you. All products are freshly made with natural products.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Spending time and traveling with my family. We traveled the world when I was young. As I got older, I realized how important that was as I cherish those memories.
