Meet Tejal Wagadia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tejal Wagadia.

Hi Tejal, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Mumbai, India. I grew up as a very active and social child, made friends, loved being around people. At the age of 17, I moved to Chicago, IL with my brother where my dad and step mom had been living. After finishing high school, I went to a community college where I was the President of the Student Body Council. I took a semester off once I received my Associates Degree since I was working full-time. I enrolled in Robert Morris University to get a Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. Once I received my Bachelor’s, the guy I was dating at the time had found a job in Phoenix with a large fortune five company, and asked me if I wanted to move to Arizona. I had no job prospects and so I did. Within a month of arriving in Phoenix, I landed a job at Robert Half as a Technical Recruiter. Since then I have held multiple recruiting/talent acquisition positions at various small-mid sized companies around the valley. I started building my personal brand on LinkedIn as a way to get ahead in my career. Currently, I am working full-time at a small Salesforce company and going to school for Masters. I have a cat called Anya.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t think anyone’s life road is smooth. We all go through our own challenges; some are easier than other. My road bumps and un-smoothness comes from being an immigrant, a woman, learning a new culture, and learning a new way to use English.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a talent acquisition specialist, basically that means I find people for either other companies or for the company I am currently working for. I love that I get to share what I do and help people find jobs.

What were you like growing up?
Very bubbly, outgoing, full of energy and sass. Very much into reading.
