Today we’d like to introduce you to Tehani Robins.
Hi Tehani, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We are a Native Hawaiian family, born and raised in Hawaii. Our migration to AZ began 5 years ago when one of our family members graduated from ASU. A few years later another family moved to AZ. It took us awhile to decide to do the Food Truck here in AZ, but our family history and culture always included cooking and catering for large family parties.
Our business in Hawaii was providing residential services to people with mental health and/or substance abuse challenges. We spent the last 20 years in Hawaii making a difference in people’s lives, one person at time. Today we operate an IOP Clinic in Phoenix and feature our food truck as part of our program, in hopes that participants of the clinic will learn a skill in food preparation.
Today our Food Truck, known as Mana Hawaiian Fusion is active in the community and is making its’ rounds in the Events and Farmers Market arena.
We specialize in Hawaiian style BBQ. Our menu includes: BBQ Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Chicken Katsu, Kalbi Shortribs, Loco Moco, Fried Noodles with BBQ Chicken, Poke Bowls, Hawaiian Style Tacos, Beef Stew, Kalua Pig and Cabbage, and Hawaii’s favorite SPAM Musubi, topped with our famous macaroni salad. If it isn’t on our menu, doesn’t mean we can’t make it, you just have to request it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
People have been very welcoming and helpful. We just love our customers and they love us. State regulations are stringent, but that is a good thing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are an IOP Clinic in Phoenix. We provide programming to people struggling with alcohol and/or drug abuse addictions. We are very proud that most everyone that comes to our clinic say they love the “vibe”. We are a culturally motivated recovery program, and this is known as “Mana”
The food truck is the fun part of our business. It is a lot of work, but it is fun meeting and getting to know people in AZ. We are very proud of our following, which is growing every week.
What are your plans for the future?
We would like to add a second food truck and increase our clients served in our Clinic.
