Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Junior.
So, before we jump into specific questions about what you do, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Being a young adult in Phoenix has been an amazing time. Growing up, I moved either once every year or every three years… there was no in between. In total, I went to about four different elementary schools, two middle schools, and three high schools. Me and my family went from state to state, growing and evolving with society. The day we landed in Phoenix, I knew I had found where my home was. I have been here for almost five years now, and I plan to be here as long as I possibly can. Moving all these times taught me a few things. For starters, I learned how to love myself and love being alone. This took a lot of time and many years to accomplish, and this has been one of my favorite aspects of me. I also learned how to be social and still be myself no matter what new culture or environment I was put in. I have lived in Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado, Arizona, and even California. Yet all but one did not feel completely right for me until we came here. Adapting to the culture of Phoenix and being able to go to school and discover who I am is a massive part of who I am now
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was not always easy for me. I have always been somewhat introverted, and moving past that has been one of my biggest struggles. Along with that, just even growing up in this social media age has been rough on us all, between self-confidence, and trying to adapt to our constantly changing culture, it has been a journey for me to stay with these times, and yet still be true to myself. This is something I will always work on and I strive to even help people through this as well.
So let’s switch gears a bit. Tell us more about your work.
Being young is all fun and games until you actually realize you are an adult. I have been currently striving to build my brand on positivity and even beauty. I try as often as I can to freelance for makeup and even hair. I have found a passion in beauty and want to make people regardless of race or gender feel as if they are beautiful in every way, and that’s really what I have started to take part in with my Instagram and even just my personal relationships and outreach
So, what should we be on the lookout for, what’s next in store for you?
I am VERY excited for the future, I eventually want to open my own business and I have a five-year plan in place at the moment to make this happen. I am also continuously trying to build a network of stylist, makeup artists, and even health and fitness coaches to create a new age of Phoenix and encourage our young people to work together and have a way to network and be connected to good-minded people all over the valley.
