Meet Tay Da Crown of Wildin Records, TTG

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tay Da Crown.

Tay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I basically started doing music after a brief prison stint I had. I started with as little Knowledge as possible about the music business, I just wanted to create and stay out of trouble as much as possible. The more I recorded the better I started getting. I always wrote poetry and I even got one published called “Drums” in the National Library of Poetry when I was a freshman in high school. I combined all the poetry I wrote with my love of music. I tried to find a median between poetry and hip hop. The more I did local shows, I found out ways to channel my emotions into my performances. I learned to conduct myself in a business-like manner and hustle my music the same as I did anything before on the streets. I always wanted to stay true to the roots of my family and the importance it brought to my life. My family was one of the first blacks to own land in Surprise, Az. I carry that pride within my music and try best to illustrate different stories that I’ve encountered over time, things we can all relate to. I’m with a conglomerate of emcees called TTG (toast to the gifted), Wildin Records and I’m also affiliated with Rewind Value Music Group.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s never a smooth road you get out what you put into it. I’m a family man so I make alot of sacrifices for this music to work out. I love the art of putting words together over dope beats and having people relate to it. I consider myself still new. And learning every day so it’s always a struggle when you add it all up. At the end of the day, family has to be taken care of.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am an emcee. I began with a mixtape series called S.H.O.T.S. which is an acronym for stay hustling over the struggle in 2014&2015. 1st quarter if 2017, I recorded and put out a studio album called “Mood” produced by ATM. And I also followed up in 2018 with a collaboration Ep with Dj JahBluez called “In search of a Higher purpose”. 2019, I’m set to release E.B.T. ep (every bodies trouble) at the end of June. July, I’m set to document and record a mixtape with West Coast Kreations Records out in California with production by B-Ready and Cee-One. Following that, in August, I’m releasing an EP with Dj JahBluez again called “Jazzomnia.” I’m also set to do a small City tour throughout the state of Arizona this summer. I do poetic style street hip hop.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m planning on growing my brand by selling merchandise and expanding overseas with touring and getting the music out as much as possible.
