Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawny Gamboa.

Tawny, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Since 2014, I have been on a mission to heal hearts and souls through the power of creativity. I started my journey studying Art Therapy to help myself but found that I could also make a difference in the lives of others. I try to live my life with passion and purpose. I once battled addiction and the brush became my healer. One stroke at a time I found a way to create a reflection of my inner soul. By adding more color to my palette, I then created a new vibrant outlook on life and my world.

My Mission: Through art and its amazing healing power, I want to inspire others and to captivate the world through color, one brushstroke at a time.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
What is a smooth road? Hah! In all honesty, I can say that my struggles and past traumas and past addictions have gotten me to such a point in my life where I’m quite grateful for the experiences. They have shaped me into the woman, mother and human being that I am. They have humbled me and enabled me to feel immense gratitude. Gratitude for my family and friends that have loved and supported me through it all. Gratitude for the empathy I can give to others. Gratitude for my body, mind, heart and soul. I feel that without the dark one cannot appreciate the light.

All that I’ve endured has been the inspiration that propels me to continue onwards in my artist career and being the best provider and mother that I can be to my two young boys is what gives me my purpose. It wasn’t easy. It was painful and arduous but it’s made me the strong woman that I am today. For that, I am truly grateful.

Please tell us about you business.
My “Fun Art” parties bring the party to your home for two to three hours. You and your guests get to avoid the normal painting party hassles (you know, the driving part). You supply the drinks, the painters, and the laughter; I do the rest! I specialize in paint your pet and pick your painting style, art classes. I pre-sketch your pet’s portrait or design of choice and guide you step by step on how to create your masterpiece.

I do custom murals and artwork for commercial and residential properties. I’m known for my whimsical tree murals and sun and moon murals. I’m most proud of my most recent mural in the NICU at Banner University Medical Center. Anytime I paint the leaves in a tree mural or any mural for the matter, I meditate. I set an intention for family, friends and those who will view my work. I also face paint for birthday parties and school festivals too. I use hypoallergenic and eco-friendly face paint.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My dream and goal for the future is to own and operate a multifunctional studio space that is dedicated to healing and helping children and the community through art, music, animal therapy, gardening, yoga and holistic practices.
