Meet Tatyana Hernandez of Majestic Cutz in Northwest Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatyana Hernandez.

Tatyana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I became a Licensed Cosmetologist after high school because I love to make people feel beautiful & confident about themselves. I became a Licensed Barber shortly after so that way I can progress my skills. I have been in this industry for nine years and have finally been able to achieve my goal of opening my own location to serve both genders. This shop doesn’t just benefit me, but it also follows my belief that everyone should be able to feel confident about themselves which is what I strive to make happen.

My dad invested in this shop because of my vision in creating this family atmosphere. We want everyone to feel included. We have a special spot in our business for veterans, seniors and also children. We offer a veteran special, having a grandfather and my father who has served in the military, we want to thank the men and women who are serving or have served with a discount we call the patriot cut military & first responders.

Children’s haircuts are not always easy due to the fear they receive from previous haircuts so we love making them feel special. One day out of the week we offer a BOGO buy one get one for 50% off for children which is Wednesday. We take the anxiety out of the haircut and provide families a one-stop-shop.

We are a full-service shop, we cater to everyone and there needs. We offer multiple services such as Haircuts (Women.Men, Children), Color, Perms, Nails, Waxing, Facials and so much more. I want to make people love their looks just as much as I love creating it.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like any new business there are some bumps, we are learning the area and having to get to know our community. The struggle is getting known as a full-service shop not just a barber, salon, or nail place. It’s a new concept. I think we are getting over that having only been in this location eight months. We are growing and our new clients are happy we are.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Majestic Cutz story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a Full-Service Shop. We specialize in Men’s Cuts, Men’s straight razor shaves, Women’s Cuts, Perms, Color, Waxing, Facials, Acrylic Nails, Manicures, & Pedicures. We are a company that gets to make everyone feel good about themselves. We as a team love what we do and it shows when we make other people feel amazing when they leave our shop.

I believe what sets us apart from others is our goal to make it about our client’s beauty goals. We are the motto “quality not quantity’ we want everyone to leave feeling great. We appreciate our clients and it shows in our work.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe the modern idea of luck has given me the good fortune of family and roads of opportunities in my life. However, I think my hard work and dedication have led me to choose This road and destination – Majestic Cutz, this shop. Without hardships whether bad luck or bad choices you don’t learn and without knowledge you cannot be successful in life or business. My “bad luck” taught me things to grow from and that makes it a lesson.

  • Veteran, First responders, and military- also known as our patriot cut is $19 for men or women.
  • We also do 20% off all services for patriots.
