Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasia Custode.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I studied Journalism at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada. However, the most formal education and training I received was at Rogers TV in Brantford, ON where I was given the opportunity to hone my skills both on and off camera. My time there truly helped launch my television career. After more than a decade on Canadian TV, I moved to Scottsdale in 2014. Though I still travel to and from Vancouver, BC yearly to co-host a tech show, I noticed a need for affordable, quality video production in Maricopa County. I decided to take the leap into business ownership. Brio Media launched in 2016 and I haven’t looked back.
Has it been a smooth road?
I tend to be risk-adverse, so taking a big leap of faith and leaving a steady paycheck to carve my own path was scary. It was like jumping head first into freezing cold water and having to swim upstream. The flip side of that for me was pure motivation – knowing there was no Plan B made me focus that much harder on Brio.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Brio Media is a boutique video production company that specializes in affordable, quality video. We produce a myriad of content, tailored to each client. Our goal is to tell your story, and your story is unique to you. Our video capabilities includes: profile and web videos, corporate and training videos, marketing and sales videos, whiteboard and 2d animation, and more. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to grow a company completely in line with my values and I’ve never strayed from my moral compass to land a contract. We only work with people and companies we truly believe in and that creates a partnership with our clients that I think is missing in this industry. Brio means enthusiastic vigor and vivacity, and we truly approach everything we do with that attitude.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I define success as feeling fulfilled and accomplished at the end of each day. Success has never been about money to me. It’s about putting my heart, soul, energy, and effort into each and everything I do. Lead with intention and everything else will fall into place.
It’s really important to gut-check yourself. You need to regularly check-in with yourself and ask important questions like ‘am I feeling fulfilled?’, ‘do I look forward to going into work every day?’, ‘Is there anything I’m missing?’, ‘what could I be doing differently?’. Be honest with your answers. Only then can you start to grow, both personally and professionally. Have you had a one-on-one with yourself recently?
