Meet Tasha Marie of Hater To Happy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Marie.

Tasha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been an athlete my entire life. I was constantly trying to get to the next level. After playing basketball professionally, I still wanted to be in sports. I went to work for one of the largest sports organizations in the country. It was not as glamorous as I always thought it would be. Not even close.

For the first time in a long time, I had no plan, no idea what I wanted to do, and no idea where to start. I sat in my windowless cubicle in a job that left me completely unfulfilled, frustrated, and hating just about everything. I knew that I could not be one of the people that stayed in a miserable job simply because it is “what adults do.” I wanted more passion, purpose, and joy.

I wanted to help people but had no idea how to do that without being completely broke. I started with what made me happy. Writing. I created a blog. It was amazing, but I wanted to work with people and have more of an impact.

After a lengthy and intense self-discovery process, I realized that my passion purpose and strengths all fell in the realm of coaching — specifically, life and mindset coaching for women. I took courses, classes, and researched everything I could to recreate the same process I went through to find my happy. Finally, I had a proven, practical, and repeatable process to take other women through.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The short answer is hell no! So far my entrepreneurial journey is one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. It is full of challenges. There have been several struggles. For one… It has been a steep technological learning curve. I am the type of girl who had to have other people download music on a computer in college (did I just age myself?).

I never thought in a million years I would have built a website, run Facebook ads, or know anything about a pixel. I also had no idea what a niche was or the slightest clue about marketing or how to write copy that resonates with my audience. It is also a struggle to stay disciplined. At first, you are all excited and motivated, but when that wears off sometimes. You have to make yourself do the work and understand there are people in the world that need what you have to offer. People are waiting for you to serve them.

Lastly, finding comfort outside of your comfort zone. Being an entrepreneur literally means living outside of your comfort zone. Learning to thrive in that environment is key! The one thing that all my challenges have had in common is this… they all take grit resilience and a positive attitude to overcome.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Hater To Happy story. Tell us more about the business.
I help women who feel lost, stuck, or ready for a transition, gain the clarity and confidence they need to step into the highest version of themselves and create a life they are in love with. I teach women how to be happy NOW while they manifest their wildest dreams.

I am most known for my energy. The compliment I often receive is that I feel like people’s best friend, which I love. I am the kind of person who hugs you the first time I meet you and wants to have cocktails and braid each other’s hair. I am also the kind of best friend who looks out for you, tells you what you need to hear, and loves you through it.

What I have loved the most in this creation process is my ability to evolve and adapt to changes. Entrepreneurship is extremely difficult, and I have found that the only way to have success is to stay in motion. I am constantly in a state of inspired messy action. I love what my brand represents… not only that women deserve to be happy and have a life they love, but that manifesting their desires is truly possible.

I am passionate about empowering my clients to be authentic, tap into the highest version of themselves, and go after what they truly want. I can’t help but take a genuine interest in their health, happiness, and well being. Seeing happy, empowered people makes me happy!

Is there something we can do as a city to improve the outlook for businesses like yours?
I mostly work with my clients online but have found Phoenix to be an amazing home for me and my business. I just moved here in October and have already met an amazing community of female entrepreneurs who are killing it in their respective areas. It is really easy to feel like you are going it alone as an entrepreneur so to have a community of inspiring women who are supportive and helpful is truly a gift.
