Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Parisia

Tanya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I first got into riding back in October of 2021 and one of my first must-have accessories were helmet braids! After scouring the internet for what seemed like an eternity, I found a company that sold basic braids with clip style mounts. The braids were decent (albeit boring and not customizable), but the clip mounts kept breaking every time I removed the braids for TLC and helmet cleaning. I kept searching for custom braids and a different mounting system, but came up empty handed. I decided to take matters into my own hands…
After months of testing, revisions, more testing, and an ocean of tears, I developed and patented (pending) my own helmet braid mounting system. My mounts allow for easy removal (without breaking!) and they are interchangeable – meaning my customers can swap out their braids depending on the day, their mood, their gear, etc.
What started as a fun way to connect with other riders and create fun braids for myself and friends, has turned into an international venture with my braids in four counties!

A majority of motorcycle accidents involving vehicles are caused by drivers “not seeing the motorcycle”. My company provides visibility on the road, custom helmet braids, themed holiday braids, and everything in between.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t a smooth road in the beginning at all, but I know my own self doubt was the major contributor. I kept worrying about all of the what-ifs, and that definitely held me back. I had amazing support from my friends and family, and they helped me overcome the fear of the unknown.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am known for my custom helmet braids! Customers love being able to send me pictures of their motorcycle, helmet, and/or gear for me to color match a completely personal set of braids for them. I love being able to brainstorm with my customers, and I especially love when they give me complete creative freedom. It’s a challenge and a creative outlet that I will never grow tired of. I think what sets me apart from other helmet braid companies is that I am constantly inventing new braid styles, themed sets, matching accessories and I have a slight obsession with sparkly hair tinsel that I hand-blend into the hair.

How do you think about happiness?
I love making other people happy. Especially when it comes to my customers (I call them Braid Babes) that turn into family. I regularly chat with my Braid Babes all over the US and even my international Braid Babes. I love hearing their braid stories – people yelling at them from their cars telling them they love their braids!
The community that comes with riding motorcycles is unmatched, and makes me truly happy to be a part of it.
