Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Rodgers.

Tammy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey started in May of 2010 after going through a very difficult divorce. Realizing that I was a single mom again and had to start all over trying to care for my kids alone. I was now faced with a fear and sudden sense of urgency to be self-reliant and independent, with a determination that I would never have to rely on another person for my security.

My trade of pet grooming that I had done for 30 years would once again pay my bills but I wanted to do something a little different and create an upscale mobile service that no one in the industry was doing. I embarked upon a journey to remove the stigma that mobile grooming was dirty and unreliable. To do this, I set the stage by creating a Hollywood themed, red carpet experience with my fully wrapped grooming vans, with the purpose of making your pet the “STAR.”

My commitment was so great to this venture that I invested my entire life savings and poured my heart and soul into the business. Since the start, I have created a proven turnkey opportunity that can be duplicated and is very profitable. With the help and support of my family and God, I have been blessed to succeed in this venture and now am able to take it to a different level and share my success with others because their success is my success.

I am the founder of Puparazzi Mobile Pet Spaw. I have served as its Chief Operating Officer and Director since 2010, Being responsible for full-time grooming, employee supervision, appointment setting, I have done it all!

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has been rough and smooth as with any start-up business. The smooth road, believe it or not, was when I started my business during tough economic times. I was very grateful as I was the sole support for my family as a single mom. After 2 yrs in the business, I was forced to turn away business and focus on expansion efforts. I was fortunate enough to purchase a second van and started the process of hiring an employee.

My challenges began with losing my first employee/friend after 2 yrs to retirement and having to look into additional help to support my rapid growth. I ran through my share of employees before deciding that this was not the method I wanted to use to expand my business. In 2015 I decided to Franchise the business and take it to a different level which would allow me to work with entrepreneurs and focus my efforts there rather than having to manage a fleet of vans and employees. My biggest challenge is finding financially qualified individuals to purchase a franchise.

In my experience, I have spoken with many who are emotionally ready to move forward but don’t have the financial means or credit. And I have experienced some financially- ready individuals who are not emotionally ready to make a decision.

Puparazzi is a mobile grooming business that provides professional pet grooming services to customers at their location. We take gentle care of our clients’ pets in the safety of our state-of-the-art mobile grooming vans just outside their front door or office. We offer a stress-free environment for a variety of pets. And I am known for my compassionate actions towards all animals, I don’t hesitate to stop the van when I am out and about for an animal in need, and my clients and friends enjoy reading about my antics on social media. I’ve been known to rescue a pet or two!

I am most proud of being able to perform a complete makeover on a rescue pet that may not have had the best of grooming care and make him or her super cute! This helps the adoption process or maybe just be a fresh start for a pet into a newly adopted family. I’m also proud of my business model, the appearance of our vans and I just love it when I get asked what pet “stars” are inside the van. People also stop to take pictures of the flashy van.

What sets us apart from others? Our philanthropic attitude, the desire to promote the welfare of all pets and adoptions from shelters and rescues. We donate money and time and are dedicated to education and providing support to local rescue and shelter operations.

Yes, I absolutely feel like Phoenix and the metro area is a great place for mobile pet grooming services. The area is ripe for those clients wishing to pamper their pets with the variety of services that Puparazzi offers.
