Meet Tamisha Bradley of Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamisha Bradley

Hi Tamisha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my career at WSJM in Southwest Michigan as a news anchor and field reporter before transitioning to the station’s sister channels as an on-air personality. Later, I moved to Phoenix, where I stepped away from radio but kept my passion for voice work alive through freelance projects.

For years, I dreamed of writing a children’s book but wasn’t sure what story to tell, until one magical night. While walking my dog, Rocco the Rock Star, I was captivated by the beauty of the full moon and thought, “This would be the perfect night for fairies to come out.” In that moment, inspiration struck, and the idea for my fairy book series was born.

Though it took time to bring my vision to life, once I finally put pen to paper, I went into full fairy mode—writing three books in just two months. My deep love for fairies has ignited a new creative journey, allowing me to blend imagination, personal experiences, and the personalities of my loved ones into enchanting stories. Through my books, I hope to transport young readers into a world of wonder, adventure, and magic.

I currently have five books and audiobooks available on Amazon as part of my 10-book series. And I have to say the audiobooks are pretty amazing (if I do say so myself, lol)! They’re filled with immersive sound effects, music and even some of my family members lend their voices to bring the story to life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
OMG! No, it hasn’t been easy at all! When I started, I had no clue about writing, publishing, or animation. I honestly thought it would take forever or cost a fortune. While it’s not exactly cheap, I’ve learned that if you do your research and handle most of the work yourself, it’s definitely manageable.

I’m a one-woman show! Aside from working with web designer Chad Greer and a proofreader, I’ve been doing everything on my own, writing, narrating, editing, formatting for KDP, creating the audiobook, and managing social media. It’s been a huge learning experience, and I’m constantly researching, connecting with other authors, and figuring things out as I go.

The toughest part? Getting the word out—making sure parents and kids notice the books. But I believe in this journey, and even though it’s all baby steps, I know it will get there!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love people! Connecting with them, entertaining them, and bringing smiles to their faces brings me so much joy. Radio was amazing because it allowed me to be out in the community, and now, I do the same with my books, just in a much more magical way.

When I visit schools and events, I don’t just read to children, I become part of the fairy world. I go all out, dressing as a fairy and creating a full fairytale experience. Parents are enjoying it just as much as the kids! I bring a whimsical backdrop for photos, fairy decorations, magical music, and even fun fairy gifts. Children can take pictures with wings, and the entire atmosphere feels like stepping into an enchanted storybook.

But my books aren’t just about fairies, they’re about friendship, problem-solving, and diversity. My husband, Jorge, even plays a part…literally! He’s in the book as a troll, and at events, he joins in with his troll ears, helping to bring the fairy world to life.

It’s deeply personal, each fairy is inspired by my family and friends, both living and those who have passed. I’ve woven real-life connections into the stories to make them feel authentic. For example, my niece is a ballerina in real life, and in the book, she’s a graceful ballerina fairy. Every character reflects a piece of someone I love, making the fairy world even more magical and meaningful.

Being a voiceover artist also adds to the magic when I read to children. I bring the characters to life with dramatic storytelling, just like in my audiobooks. Seeing the excitement in their eyes as they step into my fairy world makes all the hard work worth it.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
They can follow me on social media, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. They can stay updated on all the fairy magic, AND they can read fairy bios on Instagram and Facebook. For more information, they can also message me directly or send an email. Schools interested in having me visit simply reach out through my website, and I’m always happy to bring the fairy experience to new places.
