Meet Taj Pledger of Perfect Capture Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taj Pledger.

Hi Taj, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My mom pretty much raised me on taking pictures. She took pictures of literally EVERYTHING & I just grew up to love it. I used to do my own photoshoots (with my cell phone) in middle/high school & my friends would ask me to do theirs. Once my sister had my nephew in 2014, I wanted to do so many photoshoots of him so I bought my first DSLR camera. My family all supported me and allowed me to do so many practice photoshoots with them & their families, It really urged me to get better and better. I gained the confidence shortly after and posted my first ad on Craigslist for photoshoots & got my first paid client. I just kept getting better and increasing my prices from there. Eventually I got my own studio in 2019 and took off from there!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had some major obstacles throughout my journey. There were times were I didn’t know how I was going to pay my bills or even put gas in my car to get to photoshoots. Just when I started to make a decent income from it, all my gear was stolen a few days before I had photoshoots & that truly tested my faith. I had to buy everything again & start from scratch but I never gave up. I kept going after my passion. It really made me go harder.
