Meet Summer Elizabeth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Summer Elizabeth.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am a single mom of three beautiful children and a natural light portrait photographer. I specialize in everything family related from newborn, baby, child, to family, engagement and wedding photography serving in north phoenix and surrounding areas.

I absolutely love working with all my clients who value beautiful photographs of their precious family. Sessions with me are easy and relaxed. I am very flexible. It involves variety of poses and also candid shots, snuggling and playing around.

My story goes way back, I have always had a creative mind and a love for arts since I was a teenager, and photography is my outlet for my passion in art. I got my 1st DSLR Nikon camera from my brother who majored in media arts and I fell in love with it. I. seriously got into portrait photography when my first child was born and continue learning. I took photos of my kids, almost every week. Our family changes faster than we like! Having beautiful images to remember this time are a priceless investment. I am mostly self-taught, however regularly attend workshops, and shootouts in order to enhance and improve my skill set. My passion resonates through the images I capture.

Summer Elizabeth Photography has been a journey and a huge blessing for me. I love doing something I am passionate about.

Please tell us about your art.
My children are my passion. As a mother of three children, I know all too well how fast our kids can grow. I treasure each and every moment I have with my children. I am so grateful for this talent which allows me to capture these long-lasting memories and be able to look back and treasure because “I believe every picture has a story to tell”.

I specialize in portraiture everything family related and wedding photography. I love shooting babies, kids and families. I also adore couple and wedding, as I am able to help record their love story through images I capture.

I love outdoor session, always looking for the perfect light! Sessions with me are relax and laid back and enjoyable include both poses and candid moments. I’m always open for new ideas and I love when my client sends and share their ideas. I love making their ideas a reality. I have done many cake smash, theme photo session and many fun creative photo sessions this past years. I often host mini sessions throughout the year, especially around holiday. Easter, Fall and Winter Holiday Minis have been some of my most successful events.

People ask what is my editing style? I mostly love bright and airy, crisp and colorful. However, it also depends on the session, when, who and why, that I decide how it should be edited to look the best. I don’t care much for dark and moody, but I can be a bit moody too, again all depend on the session.

I love baby and their tiny details and the join of sweetness bundle of the family. So, I am currently in the process of developing my own studio mostly gear toward newborn, toddle and maternity studio photography. I am hoping to have this complete in 2019.

Photography is an important invested and I am willing to work with each client to create the perfect memorable photography collection that there will be cherish forever.

Summer Elizabeth Photography has been a long journey for me and I would like to thanks, especially my family, friends, clients and all my followers on social media for their continued support.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
I believe of the biggest challenges facing artists (especially photographers/videographers) today is justifying the work. What I mean by this is with the advent of modern smart phones everyone feels they can take amazing photos/videos. Not realizing that there is a large difference between their images from cellphone camera and a professional’s camera. Not to mention the lens, filters, and understanding of lighting, compositions, and other items. I believe that all too often most people tend to disregard the importance of quality over quantity. Sure, it is simple to be able to capture images with our cell phones however I guarantee you will notice a difference when having a professional photographer capture your memories.

For me, personally as single moms, with three kids and working 2 jobs, my biggest challenges are time, finance, marketing and grow my clienteles. It takes a lot of dedication, handwork, and timer to build a small business.
