Meet Suma Hodge of The Licensed Connections in West Valley Based

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suma Hodge.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Suma. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I love Law and Order SVU. Dr. Wong changed my world during my sophomore year. Secretly, I love crime and I love mental health what’s better than both. There is a need for support in mental health and reminiscing the stigma that surrounds it. It’s difficult to be able to understand the day to day and it’s effects on what’s mental capacity. Today, I am less than ten go your away from my independent license. I am a mental health advocate, speaker, and supporter. I consulted with companies looking at how to make their companies compliant with the ADHS, client’s and loved one’s expectations, I am a clinical manager that provides support and recovery opportunities to clients with a criminal and substance use shackle.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been tough. As a new mom of a one-month-old, I knew I needed a better way of life for her. I went back to school for my masters and working. All full time while breastfeeding. I knew that she deserved better and I was going to give it to her by any means. It was tough. Late nights for both of us and school and then work. Then fast forward to working a full time and full-time internship with a two-year-old. Then packing up a three-year-old to move across the country to pursue a bigger dream. To be licensed and my own business of helping the community on a macro scale. To be a supervisor.

And so we did. I’m a manager. I am growing the future and soon will be able to license them too. My daughter is my partner in crime. She trusts me. That I will always take care of her (even when I don’t know if I can). Coming from a single-parent home with a mother, who put three kids through college on her own, I had no choice. Tired nights paid off and I’m am on a path of infinite possibilities.

Please tell us more about your work
