Meet Stormy Nesbit of Painting with A twist – Tempe, AZ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stormy Nesbit.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Since I was young I was always into art. As I progressed through life I always found myself back to my first love, art. I went to college to get my Bachelors in Kinesiology but quickly found myself studying art and completed my degree with a Bachelor of Fine art with an emphasis in Graphic Design, I am currently studying Visual Communication Design at ASU and have one more semester until I finish my Masters. Within months of moving here, I stumbled across this awesome place called Painting with a Twist. I had been instructing painting classes when as an undergrad and deeply missed the experience of teaching people. Which brought me here, they had such an energetic team that I knew I wanted to be apart of this atmosphere. After about a year (a month ago), I was promoted to studio manager. I love working with all of this talented artist and being apart of an even bigger cooperation.

Has it been a smooth road?
Some challenges I’ve faced it being complacent and letting myself get too comfortable. I had a rough year when I graduated college and lost my father unexpectedly and it was such a crucial point in my life because I was transitioning from college and about to be in the working world. My father taught me so much about life and was my hero, and it broke me and my spirits to lose him. However with the support of my family, and close friends they kept me going and never allowed me to stop chasing my dreams.

I love all the food festivals and the art scene. I’ve lived here for a year and a half now and I love what this city has to offer for the arts.

The heat kills me sometimes, That would be a negative.
