Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Valkenaar.
Steve, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was first licensed in 1992 with over 25 years of sales, marketing and management experience and extensive experience in understanding real estate markets as well as intimate local area knowledge. My experience reaches across resale homes, marketing of new construction to building custom homes.
Since 1992, I have been self-employed or a business owner with the exception of a 13 year period working for a Non-Profit Organization as a CEO/COO. It was a Church and School combined. After leaving that role my wife and I decided to relocate to Arizona for the nice weather, business opportunities, and the next season of our lives. It is here where my passion for helping people through Real Estate was re-ignited.
I am currently launching “Cave Creek Today” as part of my Valkenaar Group business plan to give back to the community I live and work in. This is a unique approach to help the businesses in the area and allow me to meet and get to know the community at a deeper level and build a business that will help people.
My mission is to raise the standard of care and performance in the Real Estate industry by providing solutions through leading technology, education, and guaranteed results for the consumer purchasing and selling Real Estate.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh no, nothing is ever smooth, life is full of hills and valleys!! Moving and walking away from everything you have, have done, your friends and community to start completely over, building a people business in a new community where you know no one!! The struggles are creating a sustainable income, while you live, grow and invest to build. Having enough money to live but be able to re-invest in your business to grow it to a place where it can help people is a balancing act. It is still a struggle, but we are getting closer.
Valkenaar Group – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Consult with people in the Buying and selling process of Real Estate. I specialize in residential sales. In my former role, I am known for working with teams, training, encouraging and helping others progress. As a company, I am most proud of the integrity I operate in, and that I really care for people, everyone claims that but if you ask people how they view Realtors, it is usually not a very positive response. Responses like; they don’t return calls, they are arrogant, uneducated, dishonest, unprofessional, are common words that are used to define them. What I believe sets me apart from 99% of the Realtors is my performance & guarantee. I perform in the upper % and I am willing to partner in the risk with my clients by guaranteeing certain results above the average statistics.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Satisfied clients, new friendships, the success of others, and knowing that I have helped people navigate a large financial decision while giving them a great value. This then produces the ability to help others and give more back to the community I live and work in.
