Hi Stephenie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Sami Fine Jewelry’s owner, Stephenie Bjorkman, embodies the essence of the jewelry she sells: vibrant, innovative, intelligent, and continuously evolving. Just like the native gemstones her store showcases, she is a true Arizona original. Since 2011, she’s been rocking it as the CEO of Sami Fine Jewelry, by keeping the magic alive and customers spellbound with top-notch service and one of a kind jewelry designs.

Growing up, Stephenie never imagined she would be in the jewelry business, let alone managing a store recognized as one of the top in the industry. A true cowgirl at heart, her passion for horses dates back to her childhood. In 1997, while she was selling cowboy boots, her mother, the store’s founder and renowned jewelry designer Sami Jack, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Stephenie was then drawn into the family business.
Together, Sami and Stephenie formed a strong partnership, and Stephenie quickly discovered her knack for captivating customers’ interest. Her marketing initiatives and in-store events earned her the title “Queen of Marketing” from Indesign, a magazine focusing on the jewelry industry . Instore, a prominent trade publication in the jewelry industry, also recognized Sami Fine Jewelry as one of America’s Coolest Jewelry Stores (2008). In 2012, Stephenie was a finalist for the Fountain Hills Businessperson of the Year.

In 2013, Sami retired, passing the torch to her daughter. As the CEO and president, Stephenie upholds the exceptional standards that have set Sami Fine Jewelry apart for years. Despite her busy schedule, she still finds time for her love of horseback riding. Through her distinctive jewelry designs and marketing expertise, she has continued to expand the business. She was honored as Fountain Hills Business Person of the Year in 2019 and was later inducted into the Lower Verde Valley Hall of Fame in 2020. In 2024, Sami Fine Jewelry was recognized as Retailer of the Year by the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce!

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a child, I never thought I would end up working in a jewelry store. Being a tomboy at heart, the idea of dressing up every day for work never crossed my mind. My passion lied in riding horses and living the western lifestyle. However, everything changed in 1997 when my mom, Sami Jack, the founder of Sami Fine Jewelry, was diagnosed with cancer. She needed my support in the family business since my parents had recently divorced, leaving her to run the jewelry store alone. Initially, I intended to help her temporarily, but I ended up staying for good. Working in the jewelry industry turned out to be a perfect fit for me, something I never expected. Now, 25 years later, I still embrace my western side, but with a newfound love for and adornment of jewelry.
