Meet Stephen Phair of Edward Jones Investments

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Phair.

Hi Stephen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My Journey

I grew up in Chandler, Arizona, surrounded by a family that believed in hard work and giving back. My parents, Jim and Cathie, ran a small business in downtown Chandler and were deeply involved in the community. From them, I learned that real success isn’t just about what you achieve, it’s about how much you contribute.

After graduating from Chandler High, I spent several years figuring out how to channel that lesson into a career with purpose. In 2018, I became a financial advisor with Edward Jones. It was a natural fit, helping families and individuals make confident financial decisions while building meaningful, long-term relationships.

Along the way, I’ve always stayed grounded in service. I joined the Rotary Club of Sun Lakes in 2018, served as club president from 2022 to 2023, and was honored as Rotary District 5495 Rotarian of the Year in 2024. I was also the driving force behind the creation of the Arizona Rotary License Plate, a project that took perseverance and teamwork but ultimately helped raise funds for community impact across the state.

Every step has been about aligning my personal values with my professional mission: to be the trusted financial advisor of choice in my hometown, while continuing to give back through Rotary, local schools, and service organizations. My story is still being written, but it’s rooted in one simple belief, if you see something that needs to be done, don’t wait for someone else to do it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The Struggles Along the Way

Life’s handed me my share of challenges. I lost my dad to health complications in 2014 and my mom in a tragic accident in 2022. Losing both of them was a gut punch, it forced me to reevaluate everything I thought mattered.

At the same time, building a business from the ground up hasn’t been easy. The early years meant long days, missed dinners, and constant pressure to perform. Balancing work, family, and community involvement can stretch you thin, and I’ve had to learn the hard way that success means nothing if your priorities are out of order.

For me, it all comes back to keeping the foundation right: God first, then family, friends, and work. When those are in balance, everything else falls into place. That perspective has carried me through the toughest seasons and keeps me grounded no matter what comes next.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
About My Business

I’m a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones here in Sun Lakes, where I help individuals and families build, protect, and enjoy their wealth with confidence and clarity. My approach is personal and long-term, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all strategies. Every client deserves a plan built around their goals, their timeline, and what truly matters to them.

My ideal client is someone who values partnership and consistency. People who want more than quick answers. I work best with families and retirees who care about leaving a legacy, small business owners planning for the next phase, and professionals who want to get intentional about their financial future instead of just reacting to it. Most importantly, my ideal client is someone that is willing to share all the things I do with their friends and families.

At the end of the day, my role isn’t just about investments, it’s about helping people make decisions that give them peace of mind. I see myself as a guide through life’s transitions: retirement, inheritance, market volatility, or major life changes. It’s about helping people stay grounded in what they can control and keeping their focus on the long game.

How do you define success?
Defining Success

For me, success isn’t measured by numbers or titles, it’s measured by impact. If I’m helping families feel confident about their future, if I’m present for my wife and daughter, and if I’m making a difference in my community, then I’m winning.

True success is about alignment, when your faith, family, work, and purpose all move in the same direction. It’s about doing work that matters, surrounding yourself with people who bring out your best, and leaving things better than you found them.

At the end of the day, success is simple: love God, love people, and do good work.
