Meet Stephanie Yancey and Stephanie Wilhelm of Luzer Apparel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Yancey and Stephanie Wilhelm.

Stephanie and Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story involves just enough trial and tribulation one can handle. We all have a story. What we choose to do with that story determines the outcome of our truth. Hell, even our purpose.

I think after my experience growing up, I wouldn’t want anyone to ever feel as alone and lost as I have. Something we fail to recognize as humans is how powerful we are as is. The impact we have on one another and how that carries out. Every single day that we wake and step outside, we can either positively or negatively affect each other lives. I choose positive.

I choose fashion as my weapon and armor. This hyper good vibe passion I deeply feel for fashion and expressing oneself no matter what that is can be the one thing that helps people get through their day. People want to feel good and look good. It is always a bonus when something like a brand you can relate to makes themselves available with something simple like a comfortable shirt or favorite hat. Just something to throw on before entering the real world.

Luz means light… A loser is defined with a negative idea of someone who never wins. Well, what if we’re not trying to win anything? What if we’re just trying to maintain and stay in the game? There’s a lot of magic out there we have yet to discover (most of it is within) … it’s all about perspective.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been. The launch in Jan 2017 was exhausting and exciting all at the same time. I learned a lot about what I do and do not like about owning and maintaining a business. Relying on people and asking for help, all hard to do. Life got in the way and put me right on my ass.

Luzer is more than a material good. Luzer Apparel is a brand + culture + movement. I accept how hard this is but I also see this business successfully growing, helping and impacting others in the best way possible.

As the owner and founder of Luzer, I am most proud of the launch that happened leading up to Jan 2017. I had an incredible amount of support. It was incredible.

What sets me/us apart from others is how different I am. How real this gets and how accepting we are.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I think Phoenix is a great city for the creative to open up and share their product or trade. We need more creatives as we build more culture.
