Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Warner.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My path wasn’t meant to be conventional. I began my career in nursing, but discovering naturopathic medicine opened the door to what I now call the art of medicine—where science, intuition, and creativity meet.
When I was a little girl, my aunt lived with my family while she was in nursing school. She was warm and playful with me, and I looked up to her so much that I decided I wanted to be a nurse too. That seed stayed with me, but it wasn’t until my mom’s health crisis years later that it grew into something deeper.
In high school, my mom became very sick for nearly a year—cycling through infections and antibiotics, never truly recovering. Then she saw a naturopathic doctor—something none of us had experienced before—and for the first time, someone looked underneath the surface. Watching her finally get answers and start healing shifted my entire perspective on what medicine could be.
I first started out working as a registered nurse and worked in internal medicine, this is where I learned so much and saw the value of conventional medicine in acute care. But I also saw the gaps. I saw how often prevention was missing, how many people were stuck in cycles of the same symptoms, and how many patients were living on long lists of medications without feeling well or thriving.
That’s when I made the decision to pivot and pursue naturopathic medicine. During my training, I discovered acupuncture and it completely blew me away—how quickly it could change headaches, energy levels, and stress in a way that felt both immediate and deeply restorative. I knew I wanted to integrate it fully, so I completed both naturopathic medical training and Chinese medicine training ( a 6 year long program!) so I could combine functional medicine, acupuncture, and herbal medicine in one comprehensive approach.
Today, I’ve been practicing for seven years. Three years ago I relocated from Calgary, Canada to Scottsdale, Arizona, which has given me the ability to expand the kinds of care I offer—from deeper diagnostic lab testing to regenerative medicine therapies like PRP, stem cells, and exosomes. Through my clinic, Elixir and Wellness in Scottsdale, I’m grateful to support patients through a root-cause, whole-person approach that blends naturopathic medicine, functional medicine, and acupuncture. My mission is simple: to help people understand their bodies, treat the root cause, and feel empowered in their healing—through the natural and regenerative therapies I offer. Today, I’m honored to help patients in Scottsdale blend modern regenerative medicine with root-cause healing in a way that feels both effective and deeply supportive.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We all face challenges in life, and it’s often moving through them that shapes who we become. Every experience along my path has given me the opportunity to gain insight, deepen my perspective, and share that wisdom with others.
Early on, the rigor of my training required a lot of endurance. Naturopathic medical school is a demanding doctoral program, and the first two years are comparable to a conventional medical curriculum in terms of workload and complexity. On top of that, we also study naturopathic philosophy, herbal medicine, and a broad range of holistic therapeutics. Those early years were a true grind—long days, constant exams, and the mental stamina required to integrate both conventional science and naturopathic medicine at a high level.
I also chose to take on an even heavier load by blending my training and completing both naturopathic medical education and Chinese medicine. It was incredibly rewarding, but it demanded endurance—there were many seasons of sacrifice, very long hours, and a constant balancing act between academic pressure and personal wellbeing.
Another major challenge was navigating mold illness while I was still a student. At the time, I had never heard of it, and I didn’t yet have the clinical framework to recognize what was happening in my own body—I simply knew something was off. I was fortunate to have a trusted acupuncturist who guided me through treatment, and Chinese herbal medicine became a major part of my recovery. Years later, I experienced a second exposure that was even more severe, with neurological symptoms. That experience became deeply formative, and it’s one of the reasons I now feel so committed to supporting patients with complex chronic illness—because I truly understand the physical and emotional toll from the inside out.
Another significant turning point was relocating from Calgary to Scottsdale. I had spent five years building my practice in Canada, and I chose to leave just as it was beginning to truly thrive. Starting over in a new city meant rebuilding from the ground up—new patients, a new network, and a new pace. But I made that leap intentionally, because I wanted a broader scope and the ability to offer more advanced regenerative therapies, including PRP, stem cells, and exosomes, which I wasn’t able to provide in Alberta.
Finally, there have been challenges in simply practicing a type of medicine that not everyone understands. While integrative and functional medicine are far more mainstream now than they once were, there is still skepticism in certain spaces. But what I’ve found is that we’re also witnessing a powerful return to foundational healing principles—nutrition, movement, sunlight, restorative sleep, nervous system regulation, medicinal herbs, and even traditional nature-based therapies like hydrotherapy, cold plunges, and sauna. In many ways, it feels like healthcare is coming full circle, and I’m proud to be part of that evolution.
As you know, we’re big fans of Elixir and Wellness. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Elixir and Wellness is an integrative wellness clinic located in the heart of McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale AZ, just off Pima Road and the 101. At the core of our work is root-cause care and functional medicine—helping patients move beyond symptom management by using functional lab testing and a personalized approach to uncover what’s really driving their health concerns.
Our clinic offers a wide range of services, but we’re especially known for blending modern regenerative medicine with holistic healing. We provide regenerative therapies including PRP and stem cell therapy, supporting concerns such as joint pain, arthritis, sports injuries, and recovery, as well as deeper systemic inflammation patterns. We also offer advanced IV therapies, including a supportive IV approach for individuals navigating cancer care.
In addition to regenerative medicine, we provide bioidentical hormone therapy and acupuncture, which many patients seek out not only for physical pain and digestive concerns, but also for stress reduction, nervous system regulation, fertility support, and overall emotional wellbeing. We also offer comprehensive support for complex chronic conditions, including mold illness, using advanced testing and a targeted treatment strategy to help patients regain energy, clarity, and resilience.
A signature part of Elixir and Wellness is our work with exosome therapies—often described as “nano stem cell” technology—which we use for skin rejuvenation, anti-aging facial protocols, acne support, pigmentation and melasma concerns, and natural hair restoration for both men and women.
What truly sets Elixir and Wellness apart is that our care is never cookie-cutter. We don’t simply provide a single therapy and send someone on their way—we build comprehensive, supportive treatment plans around the patient. For example, with regenerative therapies like stem cells, we incorporate elements such as nutrition and lifestyle foundations, acupuncture to support healing and circulation, and red light therapy to further optimize outcomes. It’s a highly intentional, whole-person approach designed to help patients feel supported every step of the way.
Brand-wise, one of the things I’m most proud of is the impact we’re already making locally. Elixir and Wellness was recently recognized as a Top 3 Naturopathic Practitioner in Scottsdale for 2025, and I feel honored to be growing a clinic that is truly helping people heal, thrive, and feel empowered in their health.
Ultimately, what I want readers to know is that Elixir and Wellness is a place where science meets traditional wisdom—where advanced medical therapies and natural medicine come together in a supportive environment, so patients can feel confident that they’re being seen, heard, and cared for as a whole person.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to health, healing, and wellness. Every person’s body has a unique story, and the most effective care comes from listening deeply, using the right diagnostics, and creating a personalized plan that supports the whole person—not just a single symptom.
The second lesson is that medicine is always evolving. Every year brings new research and new tools that can help healing happen more efficiently and more precisely. One area I’m especially excited to expand in 2026 is offering high-quality, U.S.-manufactured peptides as part of comprehensive care—whether that’s support for gut healing, muscle recovery, joint support, athletic performance, cognitive function, or longevity. It’s an exciting reminder that in this field, there’s always something new to learn and implement for patients.
