Meet Steph Rosa of S.R Agency in Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steph Rosa.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, my mother (Araceli) kept me very reserved to make sure I would be safe at all times. She raised me to be independent at a very young age and to be super observant as well. Those aspects helped me throughout my modeling career. I started modeling because of friends and co-workers referring it and trying to convince me to just give it a try. Once I stepped into the modeling limelight, I realized how discouraging modeling was. However, thanks to my mom, I have always kept my mindset: aware of everything and everyone.

Has it been a smooth road?
Entering the modeling world without knowledge on how anything really worked, I decided to challenge myself and try my hardest not to listen to the “you’re too short“ or “you’re not light enough” comments. Not many Latinas have walked big major runways – and I wanted to change that.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with S.R Agency – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
After learning about the modeling industry here in Arizona, I wanted to get signed at one point by an agency, but time went by and I realized that you have more freedom as a freelance model. So, I decided to do it on my own without an agent. At first, it was extremely hard, but I knew I had to start doing something different in order to get recognized. I then started my own agency, called S.R. Agency (an agency that had no limitations on how you looked or how tall you were). It was all purely based on the love of modeling. I started throwing my own fashion shows – including collaborating with companies. I also started doing the creative direction for photo shoots, styling, makeup artist, modeling coach, mentor, creative director for multiple companies around the world, and lastly, a designer/artist.

Is there a quality or characteristic that has played an outsized role in your success?
Having complete passion and love for what you do is going to help extremely with anything you do. I have always loved helping others and trying new things (exploring my career options). Never let anyone bring you down & keep your circle small.
