Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Viyaet.
Hi Danny, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Goodness! Where to begin? This all started as a dream pretty much! My name is Danny, I am the owner and creator of the band SOULITIFY! I moved to Phoenix Arizona, about 15 years ago in the hopes I would be able to be a successful musician! I was as homeless and lived in my car with a dream and that dream was to sing!! I remember I would go anywhere I could that offered, karaoke, or competitions around town that offered a stage and a microphone! Music is my muse, it is taken away so much pain and ultimately saved my life! Long story short, I became a solo singer, providing music to local venues for their happy hour! I was approached by management and told that if I put a band together, they knew I could be successful!
So I did just that! Finding each member of SOULITIFY has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life, because I am very picky, not in the general idea of what you would think of what picky means, but more of a detailed pickiness, are they driven? Motivated, is there a passion? A hunger? And I am happy to say I found the perfect formula for this band! We are the top cover band in Phoenix, Arizona, giving something different, providing concert-like experiences for our audience! Allow me to introduce the band and members of SOULITIFY! Danny Viyaet the manager and lead singer of SOULITIFY Louie S. The drummer and co-manager/singer of SOULITIFY! Anelle Quinonez lead singer of SOULITIFY . Brenda ochoa lead singer of SOULITIFY. Colin okiyama the Guitsrist of SOULITIFY. Adrian Lopez keyboard player of SOULITIFY. Kai young The bass player and vocalist of SOULITIFY!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A smooth road? Lol far from it! Being in a band and trying to get booked is as easy as finding a needle in a haystack! Being as transparent and blunt as possible, There are lots of venues that constantly doubt the artists out there, because of the “look” or just their judgment on whether you are good enough or not without even hearing what you have to offer.
There are a lot of sacrifices. You will have to make it in order to get a little taste of what it feels like to be booked/successful. with that being said, I do not want to discourage or scare anyone anything is possible as long as you believe and you keep fighting for what you love holding on to the passion! your outcome will always prevail.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Myself (Danny Viyaet) I am currently working in the mortgage industry (lol) I know right? And I’m doing music? But hey you have to do what you have to do until it’s your time! Louie Sanchez is a father, and husband and also does music full-time! Adrian Lopez has two other 9-5 jobs outside of the band and is one of the hardest-working people I know!
Anelle Quinonez is a caregiver and full-time musician a wife as well as a mommy and of course, handles it like the boss she is! Brenda Ochoa is also a mother and works with her father in their family business and of course, blows our audience away with her angelic voice. Kai young is a full-time musician and photographer artist in general! He does it all! Colin Okiyama also has a 9-5 just like the rest of us but shares his passion with us in music!
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Everything happens for a reason when one door closes a whole house will open!
Not every opportunity will seize however, patience is key! Never stop! It’s OK to be discouraged, but always remember your happiness and hold on to that for as long as you can! Keep going, guys! You CAN do it!
