Today we’d like to introduce you to Simone Glad.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started djing at the age of 16, mostly at birthday parties or backyard parties. Back then I was still living in Italy, when I turned 18 I was finally able to start djing also in clubs and venues. The music production aspect came way later on.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth ride (laughing), there have been quite some bumps along the road. Like the pandemic, for example, the nightlife and the whole live music industry have been largely impacted by it. Although ups and downs are all part of life, so I always try to see the bright side of things.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a DJ and music producer. Most of my music can be categorized as electronic in the house and techno realms. I like to blend very melodic and organic elements, like real percussions or real instruments such as flutes guitars, and pianos, and combine them with electronic sounds like synthesizers and drum machines.
I aim to try to surprise the listeners and create some “wow” moments in my songs and Dj sets. Something that is meant to stick with your event when you leave the dance floor or you unplug your headphones.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Consistency is definitely for me. I show up every day and work for things I want to achieve.
